I am proud to be a member of the Mickey Cult. LOL.:rotfl2:

Very cool DIS made the article.

I don't think more advertising dollars will help the Mickey Moonies like me since Disney is promoting everywhere. I see WDW planning video ads on all of the non-disney blogs and sites I regularly go to. And the ads are nonstop on TV, which is why my 4yo DS asks at least 3x per day ,"Can we go to Disney today?". I think Disney is already promoting Orlando for them. Lack of awareness is not the problem- the gas prices and economy are and advertising won't help that.

i've been a member of the mickey cult since my first trip to WDW back in 1974...
oh wait...that's wrong....since my first trip to disneyland in .....hmmm...when was Michigan in the rosebowl back in the late 60's/early 70's....maybe 1969? 1970? ...i'll have to look it up.....but that was my first trip to disneyland and when i first officially joined the mickey cult.....i was about 16 years old or thereabouts...

i gave away my ticket to the rosebowl to go to disneyland.....
that pretty much says it all.....

As a general rule, when people are "tightening their belt" due to inflation, high fuel costs, unemployment, etc., vacations are generally the first item to go or be scaled back. It's not just Orlando. It's any tourism area.

Next year, maybe we'll see some of those amazing post 9-11 offers (like pay for 4 days, 3 days free.) Much better than free dining. Mickey "culters" will hitchhike if they have to....:moped: ;)

Wow, we made the Orlando Sentinal . . . .

"That's the kind of instant publicity that makes people !! Things are gonna start happening to us now . . . ."

But seriously folks, if you were going to be connected to a 'cult', what better 'cult' than the mouse, huh? It's cool, it's hip, it's modern and nostalgic all at the same time (think about it, yea, yea, that's it . . .).

Now Pete and the gang have a new challenge that we can all get behind, in spite of rising gas prices, falling stock prices, and stagnant hotel room prices, we need to all continue to be upbeat and positive about Disney's plans for PI.

But please, not the Adventure's Club!

Everyone, together, as a group, repeat after me . . .

:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1
"Marching along we're adventurers,
Singing the song of adventurers,
Up or Down
North, South, East, or West,
An adventurer‘s life is best."
:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Have a great Saturday, everyone! :surfweb:

I will be flamed possibly but after the crap that WDW is pulling (Stroller increase, increase in special dining, etc.), it is time they remember if they keep jacking up the prices on stuff, some people will have not choice but to not visit.

proud member of the Mickey Cult!!!

I will always find some way some how to get to Disney.

I do wonder what it is going to take to actually start tipping the scales towards a noticeable difference in attendance figures with the cost of just about everything rising at the exponential rate that it is right now and to also see what Disney's plan is to do something about it.

I'm proud to be a Disser, cause at least....oh never mind, but I'm proud to be a member of THIS cult :rotfl2:

Well, THAT explains why I am always so tempted to shave my head and sell flowers at Chicago's O'Hare Airport! :rotfl2:

That is SO AWESOME!!! Yes, it is a Mickey Cult and I need my fix...I am working extra hours and anything I can to enjoy a famliy needed vacation in Dec and a cruise with all my cult buddies and even better Disser's in May!!

Just what does that make Pete? :rotfl2: :lmao: If we are all members in the Mickey Cult! :cutie:

Wow! Finally a cult member! I feel strangely proud!

Proud member of the DIS ::MickeyMo Cult!

Do we have to come up with some sort of handshake to identify each other? If I have to be associated with a cult the Mickey Cult is not a bad one. :):smickey:
