How similar are they? From the looks of the rides and shows they look almost identical. We are at DL during 4th of July and I'm debating on a trip down the coast to check it out.

You mentioned Orlando and San Diego Parks. Are you referring to Sea World? Or which parks are your specifically referring to?

Good to know.

As far as the shows, they are pretty similar. Blue Horizons and One Ocean are pretty similar.

Clyde and Seamore are similar as well, although the basis of the show is different. In Orlando, Clyde and Seamore is pirate themed as to San Diego the basis of the show is TV shows. They each have entertainment at the beginning of the show as well. If you get to each one early enough, you can see what they offer as pre-show entertainment.

The major differences are in the rides. In my opinion, Orlando has the better rides, but the one's in San Diego are enjoyable as well.

Manta is really different. San Diego has no inversions or loops. It has a hydraulic take off and an extra hydraulic launch during the ride, keeping the speed consistent throughout the ride. Instead of the tracks being above you and you hanging; the cars are your typical sit down cars. It is a smooth ride and offers plenty of speed.

Journey to Atlantis is different. It's part water ride, part coaster. Depending on where you sit, you can get pretty wet.

Each also have the Skytower. This is always a nice relaxing ride.

Wild Arctic Ride is the same.

Orlando has the extra Roller Coaster: Kraken.

San Diego in lieu of an extra coaster has a water ride: Shipwreck Rapids. This ride is similar to Universal's Orlando, Bluto's Barge, or Animal Kingdom's Kali River Rapids. You will get very wet on this ride.

One additional ride in San Diego is the Bayside Skyride. It's also a nice relaxing ride over some of San Diego's bays. Just don't do this ride right after getting on a water ride, or sitting in any splash zones. It gets a little cold.

Last but not least. The drive down to San Diego is about an hour and a half. My wife and I have done SW in SD twice and have enjoyed it each time.

I'll be happy to answer anymore questions for you.

Oh, and if you do decide to go; send me a pm and I'll send you a parking pass. DW and I bought one before going on our trip last year, and we never used it. I was a space case that morning and forgot it back at the hotel. We were about half way to San Diego when I remembered it. Too late to turn around so we just paid for parking when we got there.

If OP hasn't taken you up on your generous offer, I would love to have the parking pass. TIA! :goodvibes
