Any recent visitors take notice of the water levels at the lakes & lagoons at WDW. What is the state of the drought ?

The water level is getting low over much of the state. I have a friend at the Miami end of Alligater Alley who says that their river is about to drop below sea level, which would cause an influx of salt water into the area around his home, killing off a lot of fish and flora in his area.

I've been watching Florida weather, seems like they have been getting rain, just don't know how much.

I was there last week, and they did get rain on Tuesday, about a little less than 2 inches, buth they need to make up 2 feet, according to the news. The waler level in the ponds is about 10 inches below normal. It is easy to tell by looking at the algea marks on the pilings and the old waterline around the pond (lake). I also noticed that at the magic kingdom they have put in floating docks for the launch to GF & POL. I guess they may have had problems getting wheel chairs on and off the launchs. I also noticed most of the decorative water fountains throughout the MK were turned off and dry

I read an article today that implied that Central Florida would require 12 inches of rain just to get back to average levels. Sounds bad.

Being a FL resident, I can say that our rain problems are increasingly worrisome!!! We have been getting a little rain lately (some is even predicted for today), but we would need several days of straight rain to make even a dent in our drought problems. But, the rainy season is coming soon, and hopefully this will be a good one.

I know that the tourists don't like the rain when vacationing at WDW, but the FL residents are praying for it!!!

Having just returned from a week or so in WDW, I can say that they are now getting some rainfall. Although I'm sure water levels were down, It was not noticeable at OKW or Port Orleans/Dixie Marinas, not that I was really looking for signs. We were to busy holding the umbrella most of the week.

Cast Members (read:bartenders) were thrilled with the rain, we could'nt enjoy that with them!

We are located about 60 miles West of Orlando. All of central Florida is in a sever drought. Normal rainfall is about 40 inches a year. Last two years only about 20 inches per year.
This condition will NOT affect the fun you will have at Disney!

We were there last week. We have scattered rain on Tuesday and it was very cold on Wednesday but the sun was out and shining the rest of the week. We visited family who live in Clermont, just about 7 miles from the MainGate at Disney. They have waterways that go throughout their development and they were all dried up!!!!

They are in need of rain!!! I noticed some shrubs looking wilted and burned and as was previously mentioned the water fountains were off at MK and Downtown Disney.
