Orlando Hotel Help....

We are renting a house down on the Gulf coast this November (as we do every year!), but will have our usual few days up in Orlando. It will be 3 years since we have stayed in a hotel, as last year we didn't make the trip up with 6 week old Tiger, and the year before we got married and then did a DCL cruise.

We just use the hotel as somewhere to sleep as we'll be at the parks all day, but I'm not really a budget hotel girl.

So I'm just looking for some suggestions, based on the following:-
  • Good quality hotel
  • Not too expensive (as we will only be sleeping there, we won't have much of an opportunity to enjoy any amenities)
  • Decent sized rooms - maybe 1 or 2 separate bedrooms to give us some peace form the kids
  • Close to Disney
We are undecided about staying in a Disney hotel. Not sure if it's worth the extra $$$$ if we won't be there all day.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :goodvibes

If you are looking a 2 room suite sort of thing it may be better to look for a condo or townhome. I know a lot do have a minimum stay of 3 or 4 nights but someone may have a 2 night gap if that is what you are looking for - certainly worth looking into if you want the extra room and somewhere nice :goodvibes

Sorry not very 'up' on hotels as always stay in a home :)

If you're only in Orlando for a few days and you are planning to spend the majority of that time in Disney, then I would definitely stay on-site. You get the easy transportation and the wonderful theming, plus the EMHs.

What dates you going?
We staying at POR for 3 nights after cruise in Aug but costing £70/night, crazy price compared to offsite. 1st 17 nights offsite is £20.65/night incl breakfast. Hope its worth the extra, Value resorts are not for us.
Easter we are staying in a 2 bed condo at Windsor Hills, paid £60/night which is OTT but we picked the one with features we wanted.
Let me know dates and I will have a quick look in my faves, see if I see any bargains.

Thank you Wayne. We are not fixed as to exact dates, just as long as it is between 25th Oct and 8th Nov. I am tempted by onsite, but I can never seem to find any good deals. Any suggestions gratefully received!

Off site you could stay somewhere like http://www.cypresspointe2.com/ 2 bed apt works out at around £33/night, never been but I know people that go back again, very close to Disney at LBV area.
The deals are not great onsite, glad we prefer offsite.

The Rosen Centre on IDrive is a lovely hotel to stay in.

Definitely have some great memories of staying there. It's kind of a business hotel, but that's what I liked about it.
No vests and flip-flops in sight. ;)

Thanks all - I'll check them out.

Howya doin' Johnny? Hope you are ok - great to see you have a trip coming up :goodvibes

Hi Kristie - great thanks, trust you are ok too?

Yep, August 20th - actually we should have been going next friday but changed it, Joshua not been all that well and school holiday arrangements a bit of a mess.

Take care - send me a pm sometime ;)

I can still picture us walking from the Omni to Pointe Orlando over the road when Josh was a baby.

Yes, I'm fine thank you (aside from all this crazy corporate football stuff - give me the old days anytime!!)

Sorry to hear Josh hasn't been well. But I am glad you have been able to rearrange your holiday. The years seem to fly by don't they??! Nice to see you are still around - I will definitely pm you sometime. Take care yourself
