I tried this on the Orlando Hotel board, but didn't really get a lot of response.

Has anyone stayed at the Gaylord Palms Resort? How was it? Did it compare well to the Disney Deluxes? I placed a bid on Priceline, and this is what I got.

Do all of the rooms have computers in them? I see they all come with internet access. Also, how are the bathrooms set up?

Any other information about Gaylord Palms would be appreciated.

Thanks! ;)

I'd like to know too, as we just got it for one night (4/17) for our April trip (going to POFQ for the rest). It looks super from the photos I saw when doing a internet search, but would love to know the bathroom set up also. We'll be going from a pool with an octopus to one with a dragon! Seems to be conveniently located also.

I know nothing about the GP, but just wanted to say it is nice to see you here on the CB, CD, stop by more often, now that you are one of the chiefs here. :) :wave2:

Hi Dan :wave2: Guess I'll have to start posting some more over here, usually just lurk. ;)

ibouncetoo, please post about your stay when you return! The GP really does look like a nice place, I'm very curious of which section we'll get. ;)

From the outside, GP looks absolutely gorgeous.

I'm curious, if you don't mind divulging...how much did you get it for?

I've dropped by to visit with family staying there and found it surprisingly beautiful! They were very pleased with all the amenities offered......dining places, pools, shopping etc. 'fraid I can't recall the bathroom set-up other than to say it was decorated beautifully! Haven't ever heard any negative remarks about it. :sunny: (DH and I have been considering staying there for a week-end getaway.) :teeth:

We're paying $85/night in July. The regular price for the time we are going is $239/night. I'm very happy with the price!

WOW! That is an awesome deal! Congrats!

Are you aware that the parent company also owns the Opryland Hotel? I bet it is amazing!!!

I have!!!!

Having never stayed at a Disney Deluxe, I can't say exactly how it compares, but it's a beautiful hotel!

Our room did have a laptop and internet access.

The bathroom setup - hmm, I'm not sure if I remember, it was very nice though. I think everything was in one room with a large vanity outside the bathroom door.

They have a bus that goes to WDW. They have a set schedule - they go to all the parks on a loop. I think it took about an hour and 15 minutes to go through the loop. It's fine if you aren't in a hurry, and it's a very nice bus. Cushy seats with tv screens throughout the bus. Both drivers I encountered couldn't have been nicer. One was a former CM and he asked us Disney trivia the whole time.

The toiletries were great! I grabbed them and threw them in my suitcase everyday :)

We also were given free orange juice and water in our room everyday - bottled. Great for taking to the parks.

We ate at one of the sit down restaurants for breakfast, it was a buffet, great food, a little expensive if I remember.

They have a small shop that has ice cream, bagels, sandwiches, pop, coffee, etc. that was good for a snack.

They also have a disney gift shop incase you have a craving for chocolate covered Mickey pretzels - I know I always do ;)

It's a huge place, you'll get your exercise.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I'll see what I can remember.

I don't know how much we paid, it was for a meeting for DH, but I think $85 a night for that hotel is a great deal!!!

tkyes, which section was your room in? How did you like the way it was decorated? And, did you have an atrium view? I would love an atrium view, but I'm sure they don't give those with the $85 priceline reservations! ;) Thanks!

I don't remember the section - do you have a list of the sections, I would remember it if I heard it.

No, we didn't have an atrium view, we had an outside view. It was a corner room with two windows. I think we overlooked the parking lot to tell you the truth. It was nice to have two windows in the room though.

Yes, the sections are Key West, St. Augustine, and the Everglades - then their "hotel within a hotel" section is Emerald Bay. :)

The Everglades! :) The atrium in the Everglades portion was very realistic too - as realistic as you can get indoors. Lots of spanish moss and mist. Their ponds around the atrium have all kinds of turtles and fish too, pretty cool.

You got *one heck of a deal*!!

My parents and my brother/sis-in-law stayed there! It is absolutely gorgeous!! They had an atrium view, which is way cool! This is a related company to Opryland ~ every attention to detail was met! (They paid over $200 per night!)

Great job on getting this price! Have a fantastic time!!
