I'm looking to book a flight from Orlando (MCO) to Dallas (DFW) in January 2014. Ideally I'd like to fly AA as I will be connecting with a Qantas flight back to Australia, and I can check my bags all the way through with AA.

At the moment AA.com is showing $312, which does seem on the expensive side as you can fly MCO to LAX for $180.

Are fares to DFW typically more expensive? Is this price likely to come down or should I book now?

I'll tell you EXACTLY (down to the minute) when to get the cheapest price on airfare if you'll tell me the winning lottery numbers. :rotfl2:

No one can say with ANY certainty what prices will do. Anyone who says book at '6 weeks out' or '4 weeks from your trip' are just guessing also.

The only hard & fast "rule" when booking airfare is to buy when you are comfortable with the price. If you'll get upset if prices drop after you buy, don't look back. You can't get upset if you don't know, right? Obviously, if you book with an airline that offers credit (SW, JB) if prices book, THEN look again.
