Whisper it very quietly but I think I might have talked my Wife into another trip to Florida next year.

One of the conditions is that we spend some time down at the Keys, so I was just wondering if anyone has any information/tips on where to stay?

I notice one of the two centres in the Virgin brochure has a week at Sheraton World on Idrive (which I know very well), and the other at Hawks Cay on Duck Key.

Sounds inviting.

Julian.

Hi, we recently returned from the Wyndham Casa Marina, Key West and found it to be very nice indeed.

Pool conciege was great. Frozen towels to cool you down, fresh fruit and lolly ice's. The little things mean so much.

Anyway its lovely and I would go back tomorrow if I could afford it.
So I guess thats a recommendation from me.

Great trip - we stayed at the Sheraton World a couple of years ago, fine hotel and great location.

We visited the Florida Keys last year for a couple of nights, after a week in Orlando, then another week on Marco Island.

The Keys were fantastic. We stayed at The Cheeca Lodge (with Virgin) but I'm pleased to see they no longer offer this hotel. The hotel itself was spectacular - it's listed as one of the Most Luxurious Small Hotels in the World . . . not our room though (or the other Virgin guests, I suspect, no-one seemed to get the recently renovated rooms in the British contingency).

The Keys have a lot to offer, or you can just take time to relax.

I think Kazzie stayed at Hawks Cay last year. Key Largo is one of the first larger Keys that you drive through and there are plenty of restaurants, snorkelling and diving trips available. Take a snorkelling trip (or dive if you do) - it was spectacular. Even my DH came along and can't wait for another trip this year when we go.

Go visit the Tarpons at Robbie's Marina near Key Largo - never seen such big fish in my life and you get to feed them, it really is an amazing sight.

Just driving over the Keys and all the interconnecting little ones and their bridges is interesting in itself.

It's quite a long drive from Orlando 5 hours, but easily doable as the roads are fine. It's only a couple of hours back to the Everglades from around the Key Largo area too, again well worth a visit if you've not been.

Thanks all for your help.

Trip planning is in its early stages but at least its in the planning stage!!!!

Can't wait.

Julian.
