Orlando airport? Universal store?

This is an odd question but I bet a disser will know! I have a lay over in Orlando of about 2 hours. If all goes well I would like to go to the Universal Store and do a bit of b day shopping for my DD. I am pretty sure I will have to exit and go back through security to get to the store.

Can anyone tell me which side the Universal store is on? I will be flying in and out on Southwest and I am pretty sure it is the B side. So would I need to take the tram? If so would I have time to get to the store and back through security in just 2 hours? Thanks so much for helping me think this through.

There's a Universal store on each side according to the map. I know there's one on the A side because we usually come in that way but even if there isn't one on the B side it's just a matter of walking across the middle of the terminal to the other side.
Yes, you would have to take the tram into the main terminal (landside) if you're at the gates (airside) I would think 2 hrs would be time enough.

map of terminal, just put your cursor over the store and a dot will appear on the map.

The Landside building is divided into two sides - A and B. The sides are mirror images of each other, with various services located on one side, and some services (like rental car counters) duplicated on both sides. The A and B sides run along the outer edges of the north and south faces of the building. You will often hear people mention "Terminal A" or "Terminal B"; these refer to the A and B sides of the Landside building, not to separate buildings.

The only downside that I can think of is that if the security lines are long you could have problems. I have never waited more than 20 minutes or so, but I have read other reports of people waiting for an hour plus. You would want to be at your gate at least 20 minutes prior to departure.

I only remember seeing 1 Universal store, but like the previous poster mentioned all you would have to do is walk across the space separating the 2 sides of the terminal.

Just in case you don't make it, here's the website for Universal merchandise: http://www.universalorlando.com/Merchandise/merchandisehome.aspx

Same prices as in the parks and the airport store (but of course there's shipping).

Just in case a Hogwarts robe is on your mind...I don't know how old your DD is, but DS is 7, is tall enough to go on *almost* everything at Universal (I'm 5'3" and he's at the tip of my shoulder), and his Gryffindor robe is XXXS, and is still a bit long at the bottom and the sleeves. Just to give you a basic starting point, in case it's on the list. :)

Thanks everyone so much!!!! I knew the Dis could help me. I am going to check out the link and see if I can tell on line. If not I think I will be able to go over to the store.

In March, after arriving on JetBlue, I went to the Universal store. I think JetBlue and Southwest arrivals are near each other. As I recall, after you take the tram to the main building, you will be on Level 3, where the store is.
Ground transportation is down on Level 1 and Baggage Claim is down on Level 2. I believe the store was on the left.

I bought a Ravenclaw robe, and then went downstairs to meet my ride to go to the hotel. I did not go back through security to catch another flight.
