Leaving from Orlando Airport July 7th. How much of a wait time can I expect at the Airtran counter and security? Does Airtran have skycaps at Orlando? Thanks.

MCO is VERY busy at the best of times. Be sure to be at the airport a minimum of 2 hours before your flight. I usually plan to be arrving at the airport about 2.5 hours before flight time. This gives me a small cushion if there is traffic or any other delays and also time to just get inside and get to the first place I need to be....be it checking a bag or at the security line.

I much prefer to be early and have time to get a coffee then to be stressed out waiting in a line and worrying if I'll make my flight.

Last November we checked in online 24 hr in advance, printed boarding tickets(the hotel helped) and paid luggage fees. Car dropped us off at the Airtran section we got out gave out bags to checkin right outside. They confirmed we had paid and off to TSA check point we went. Had time to stop for a quick meal and they to wait outside the gate for the plane.

This is a holiday week.

That means fewer business travelers and more families that don't travel a lot.

I would arrive at least 2 hours in advance. It's MCO, home of the TSA mess, most frequent flyers judge as the worst out there (there's a reason the first airport FlyClear went back into after bankruptcy was MCO :) )
