Update: After doing several searches, it seems as if it is hit or miss getting it through security. I did find that I can have it mailed from guest services, so I am going to check with them. I am sure it will be cheaper than checking a bag :)

We are wrapping up our trip today and my son won a plastic (clearly plastic, not realistic looking) sword. We only brought carry on bags and it would be $20 for me to check a bag (really not worth it just to get the sword home). Can I bring the sword in our carry-on? I know the TSA web site says no realistci looking toy swords or guns, but this is clearly a toy with no sharp edges. Any advice or other suggestions would be appreciated.

We got swords from CRT and the POC store through on two different occasions. I didn't even think about it :) Good luck!

Last Friday, 12/7, we flew out of Orlando. At our gate, I seen quite a few kids with those. Good Luck!

You could always take it out of the carry on and put it on the conveyer belt and run it through the x-ray machine separately. That way that can see it better.
