As well as staying on site at WDW for 2 weeks we want to spend a week in Orlando to go to Seaworld, Universal etc so I am looking for accomodation recommendations.

We are happy to stay in a hotel or rent a house, as long as it has a pool pirate: and is not too far away from everything. We will hire a car for this week (if needed) so will be pretty mobile but would be great if we were near a supermarket etc

I have looked at a few Seaworld partner hotels (which come with transfers to Seaworld/Universal), has anyone stayed at one of them?

Has anyone got any good recommendations or places to avoid?

Thanks:cheer2:

At this stage I think we're staying at Sheraton Vistana Resort, they look very clean, and are pretty central to most tourist traps from what Google Maps shows me.

I know Marvel stayed at one of the Sheraton Vistana but i'm not sure which one.

There is also a thread on here somewhere, webjet have great deals on it with longer stays :thumbsup2 I can't go past their prices and the reviews are good...

Thanks Becpee:) I will look into the Sheraton Vistana. Hopefully Marvel will chime in with his thoughts!

I have been looking at SpringHill Suites, which is a Seaworld partner hotel. It has a nice looking pool and complimentary breakfast - plus the rates seem ridiculously cheap (less than $150/night). Makes Aussie accommodation seem crazy!

hi there. Sheraton Vistana is awesome and we are planning to stay there again in Sept. Rooms are around the $170 mark and recently renovated. I think you can get it via DIS for around $150 without the housekeeping, but we like housekeeping ! ::yes::

Rooms were huge, kitchen, two bathrooms, two bedrooms. 7 pools all up.

I think we were in Spa's section. It is also very close to outlet shopping mall, the name of which i cannot remember right now.

Really could not fault it. It is very close to Disney parks and we had no trouble driving to Universal from here although you have to mind the peak traffic times. but nothing like LA traffic. Close to heaps of food as well. We will have a car the whole time, which you will need.

We are probably going to stay here the entire time in Orlando, so around 17 days or 18 days. When i try to price everything else, nothing compares really. You get privacy for the adults, kids get own room and beds. We got to disney very quick, parking was so easy and it was handy to everywhere else.

There are quite a few threads on Vistana on the Orlando Accomodation Forums, with more info on the rooms etc. but if I can help, just let me know. As you can tell we loved it and are finding it almost impossible to find anything that compares.

I havent stayed there but have friends who have, Floridays Resort, they have good rates if you like them on Facebook and the resort is meant to be lovely

I've had friends stay at Floridays too. They thought it was great and there was a discount if you Liked them on facebook. It's across I Drive from Vistana. Most of the other guests were European - I don't think Australians generally have issues with skimpy swimming costumes, but if you do...

I usually stay Marriott timeshares, most of them are around the Sea World I Drive area.

I've had a look at Vistana (gorgeous!) but I am still leaning towards SpringHill suites which are cheaper and include transport to Seaworld and breakfast. I think the hotel will be more basic but we will go from there to a week on the Fantasy and then 2 weeks at Old Key West at WDW - so the first week is a good way to be frugal (it's always better to move up in luxury rather than down!). Still a year till we go - so no need to make a decision in a hurry. I want to keep researching;)

Will check out Floridays!

Thanks everyone for your help;)
