Hey everyone. My family and I are WDW pros, and we're taking a trip out to Cali in November and visiting Disneyland for the first time. We were just looking and decided on doing Paradise Pier, and when I went to book it, it's not longer available for the 3 nights we need(no standard, no preferred, no club level, no anything). I guess we didn't realize it would book up that fast, but alas. Is that normal? Anyway, as this is our first and probably only time for a long time going to Disneyland, if you had to choose between the other 2 DL hotels, what would be our best bet? We have a 12 year old and a 2 year old. Thanks!

There are a gazillion opinions and everyone has their arguments as to the benefits of each...but finding out what you value in your stay will help answer that question.

I LOVE the Grand...location can't be beat but to me proximity is the thing i cherish most. The rooms are a bit smaller, but I love them. The ability to pop in and out of the room for a break, change of clothes, ditch the sunglasses, ect. can't be beat.

The DHL has bigger rooms and much more Disneyfied theming...but is a tad bit further of a walk through DTD. While it is not "far" we tend to go out and stay out more than when we stay at the Grand.

What are your dates? I wouldn't expect PPH to be booked this early.
Have you tried calling to make the reservation.
Sometimes online shows No Availability when there are rooms.

For the age group, if you plan to use the pool area, I'd go with DLH.
If you want close, go with GCH.

I think it would be very rare for PP to be completely booked this far out. I have found that the website does glitch on occasion. It has happened to me before too. I would keep checking back the next couple days to see if availability changes online. If not call. If for some rare reason it is unavailable then my vote is for the DLH. It is the most magical with lots of disney touches.

There is a better chance the website was having issues than that the rooms were sold out of you are at least a month out from your trip. So I would call.

Absolutely call! If calling direct doesn't do it, look at third party sites like AAA or call a travel agency. They usually reserve blocks of rooms for their clients.

Between the DLH and DGC, I'd pick the DGC, hands down.

PPH tends to get booked earlier than the others because it's the most inexpensive of the three.

GCH if it's in your budget. We tend to do PPH often. But stay at GCH when there's a deal. Have only stayed at DLH when PPH was all booked. I like it, I like the grounds. The room we had was smaller. Wider but smaller and dark. Our room was near the elevators, unsure if this was typical room size. But we had one small window in the corner vs the entire wall being a window.

Parkhopper and I always have this! I love the DLH. Yes, 5 mins further. But rooms are so themed and larger than the Grand. I love the roaming characters, and the pool! The kids will love the Monorail slides.

I stay at all 3, I do DL Hotel when it comes in cheaper than PP, and we are DVC so we sometimes stay at VGC. I like them all!
