Orient Beach, has anyone go to this beach. Yes its a nude beach we have heard. Like is there a lot of nude activity? We are family with kids in the group so would it be to awkward there? What are peoples expeariences are Orient Beach?

We went to Orient Beach in November. It was more topless than nude. I cannot say I really saw anyone naked.

It depends on the area - if you travel very far to the right (while facing the water) it eventually becomes more and more nude. If you stay in the center area (where the taxis drop you off) it's most covered up with an occasional topless person. I think if you go left, it's even less likely to see a topless person.

In all areas, it's very "normal" and no one is being obvious in showing off their nudity.

Mason said it pretty much to a "t". I saw a fully nude 60+ man and his topless very heavy companion walk by and a few topless stragglers (sp) but otherwise it was ok. My son and brother walked down the beach and the further down they went...the less clothes they saw. My son had to walk in the water (waist deep of course) on the way back because he saw a little more than he should have. I could have killed my brother for walking him down there lol.

I watched some of the reacations of the kids and some were saying "eww gross" and some were acting as though they saw nothing lol. In my opinion you should be fine but it depends on how you feel, you never did say...how old are your kids?

People sunbathing at a nude beach are doing exactly that...sunbathing. There is NO illicit activity. This is the norm for most of the world. It is only in the U.S. that some people will be traumatized by the sight of the human body. Talk to your kids ahead of time. What you will very likely discover is that after your initial and momentary uneasiness you and your kids will not think much of it. UNLESS YOU make a big deal out of it.

We went to Orient Beach in October...It is a beautiful beach. AS for the nudity we saw a little but not like a majority as a matter of fact it was very few and it was mostly topless and old men in thongs. The NUDE beach is way down and around a bend on the beach to the right if your looking at the water. I would suggest this beach to anyone on the cruise my DH and DS rented a jet ski and had a blast there is also a big floating trampoline that my son loved. You can rent chairs and an umbrella for a very reasonable cost. Great beach don't let the whole "NUDE" thing keep you from going there it's really not a big deal.

Orient Beach is beautiful and we have brought our kids their several times on while the cruise. You will occasionally see topless or nude but unless you are really looking you would not notice. Our kids did have the initial ewwww reaction but now we laugh about it. We always see many children there and none seemed "traumatized" by the experience!

Orient Beach has several beach clubs with different color umbrellas at each beach club. DCL drops you off at I think Waikiki Beach Club (maroon colored umbrellas) but we went to Binkini Beach Club (green umbrellas) via taxi (and right next to Waikiki) and only paid taxi fare and rental chair fee so it was much, much, cheaper for our family of five to do Orient beach without being on a DCL excursion.

Here are some pics of the beach.....oh, the guys in thongs were playing a practical joke on their family...they arrived in regular suits and then displayed their "thongs" and their family went nuts with laughter...it was hysterical to see!!!

Like anywhere you go keep on eye on your things while in the water, walking. We had my sons Nike sandals stolen here while we went for a walk and no one stayed behind to watch our things. The kid working at the place, I forgot the name, the one Disney brings you to, just shrugged when we asked him if he saw anyone around our stuff.

We absolutely LOVED Orient Beach. We had a blast in St. Martin. The previous posters are right. Stay in the middle and you'll se an occasional topless woman. We did see a couple full frontal males parts when a couple older gentleman strutted down the beach like they owned the place just as proud as can be. Most of these nudists have less then perfect bodies. We went with our two kids DD-14 and DS-4 at the time. We were all fine with it. There is nothing inappropriate going on. It's mostly europeans enjoying the sun. I would have sunbathes topless but DH said "don't even think about it". As soon as we got there, our DS looked around and proceeded to strip. We told him to keep his clothes on so his bottom wouldn't get burned. :earboy2:

We've been there with children between the ages of your kids (8 to 14). We were in the middle section of the beach. 95% of the people were wearing what we Americans would call appropriate beach clothing. 4.9% of the women in our area were topless - mostly laying on the beach or in recliners. A few were in the water. None were "frolicing" / prancing / parading around. THe other .1% were totally naked. Most were locals - very dark, very much looking like dried out cracked leather or wall panelling (and about that "exciting").

There was the tubby white guy down the beach in his all in all. What he forgot was that normally the sun don't shine down there and his buns were Flaming Red. I assume that his front side looked the same - we never saw it. But as a guy I can't imagine the pain and agony of it. Also don't know how he managed to sit down for a week or so :smooth:

Bottom line - none of the kids turned into stark raving mad sex fiends because they were exposed to a little nudity. Me on the other hand..... If you don't make it an issue by being shocked by it, your kids won't either.

If you are facing the water the nude beach is all the way to your right at the every end but people from there do walk the entire beach....but if you stay around the Waikiki beach cluba and Bikini beach clubs you will be fine....
