Ok so I have been delaying doing anything for this trip as we already cancelled it once following me having a accident and smashing my leg up.

Anyway the trip is 100%going ahead on our new day 13th October so now I'm slightly panicked that we are not organised in the slightest. I am hopefully getting booked in for my 3rd operation 2week before we fly (this is a bit scary but also means i dont have to travel with my leg in external fixator)so want to try get everything done before that, I case I'm not up to doing it after op.
I really need a bit of a check list or suggestions and tips to remember everything

Here's what I have done so far
  • Top notch travel insurance purchased
  • sent off for dh new passport
  • Flights and seats booked
  • First 2nights accommodation booked
  • Got a few £100 in dollars and planning on using my post office credit card
  • Got 3park sea world combo tickets
  • Got all kids holiday clothes bits they needed before shops turned winter

I just don't want to forget anything important. I have not made any park itinerary or dining reservations yet as I don't know how I feel. No Idea about checking in for flights online as never done that before, when , or how do I find out when that needs to be done . Can I still just turn up at airport and check in
.

Have you got your ESTA? As for online check in, this normally opens up 24 hours before you fly, or you can check in at the airport.

Glad you have managed to sort everything out for a new date :)

If your DH is getting a new passport he will need to get a new ESTA even if the rest are still in date his won't be valid

No everybody needs a new esta , will do them all when his passport arrives.

Hi

I would call the airline and ask for assistance.
Check the airport Web site for assistance information.
Car hire at Orlando if needed.
Pre book car parking in the UK meet and greet.

Lucky charm ☺

Regards
Paul

I have got that on my list , but as yet don't know what assistance I might need . It depends on operation date and recovery. I have a lady from Thomas cook customer care on speed dial she has been brilliant.

Book a few ADRs. You can always cancel them but it might get you in the mood a bit! Have a look at the Food and Wine menus and imagine eating around the world. Do you need a wheelchair when you're there? I know you can pre order from off site companies cheaper than on site. Good luck.

Had a productive week , still lots to do but getting there . Our itinerary is now

13th oct man -Miami direct flight
13th check in springhill suites south (2nights)
15th oct 5night Bahamas cruise with carnival
  • Booked drink package
  • Pre ordered bottled water and drink cans for room
  • Registered kids in fun camp
  • Selected check in time
****big gap here still , all Orlando plans to fill in still??*****
30th oct-5th nov treasure island beach motel ( read some dodgy reviews and also noticed beach is stony/shells so might cancel this)
6th nov fly home Miami to man :guilty:

:crutches::crutches:I still haven't made a decision about taking a wheelchair , I really hate it and keep telling myself I can manage . Dh has other views on this!! I did get a letter from my surgeon saying that hopefully if my X-ray on 22sept looks ok he will remove the external fixator . So things are looking well for it been off before we go .

We have no Disney tickets booked, didn't know about food and wine ! Might have to go to Epcot for a day now . Maybe the wheelchair is not such a bad idea :hippie::fish::rolleyes1 Useful after wine sampling.

Your plans sound great so far!

Good luck for the 22nd but either way a wheelchair might come in useful if only for 1 day at Epcot :goodvibes
