Okay the rollercoaster (not log ride)...my son does not like that one because he says it's to "herky jerky". I agree, it's not a smooth ride at all and it's cramped.

That said.....which coaster type rides at DL will he probably not like and which ones are going to be better than that?

Are you talking about the bobsleds at E.F? Those are herky jerky,lol. I don't like them much either... I am not sure your son would like big thunder mountain railroad...it has "herky jerky" parts, and the seats are slippery. Also, there is one safety bar, so the person who is thicker determines the placement and security of the bar. I would try space mountain, it is fast, but smooth....

I'm not a fan of the Ice Mountain bobsleds either. It just feels claustrophobic.

How about Goofy's Sky School? You could show your son the POV videos on youtube to get a feel for the ride.

Big Thunders track itself is fairly smooth but it has intentional sudden twists and short quick drops that jerk you around quite a bit. Its a fun ride though!

Matterhorn jerks you around quite a bit throughout the entire ride. Reminds me of old wooden coasters even though its steel. Its currently under refurbishment so its possible this will finally be improved.

Space Mountain is fairly smooth and a great coaster. Also there are no steep drops at all.

California Scream'n is a modern smooth steel coaster that looks like an old wooden one.

Goofy's Sky School has a smooth track but its very sharp sudden turns jerk you a bit but thats its intent!

Gadgets Go Coaster is smooth but its a short tiny coaster intended for kids and thus cramped for bigger kids or adults.

I haven't been on the bobsleds since I was little but I never liked them either. Always had to close my eyes.

But I would second both Big Thunder and Matterhorn as jerky. I know quite a few people that won't ride those because of that factor.
