I'm sure some of you girls have done this, so I've come seeking advice.

Our cake was made by the Boardwalk Bakery and was just one of the basic Escape designs - roses and drapes.

If I wanted to order just a small replica for our anniversary, presumably the minimum would be a top tier, can anyone tell me approximately how much this might cost and what contact details I should use to place an order?

Thanks in advance!

One-tier anniversary cakes usually cost $50-$75, depending on how elaborate they are. I have also seen two-tier mini-cakes made by the BoardWalk bakery, so definitely ask what your options are for a custom cake. I'm sure when you explain that you had a Disney wedding and that BoardWalk Bakery made your cake, they'll have all kinds of ideas. :thumbsup2

You can contact the BoardWalk Bakery by calling the BoardWalk Inn and asking to be transferred to the bakery: (407) 939-5100

Thanks Carrie!

Do you know if we have to pick up the cake or can it be delivered to our room? Is there an additional charge for this?

Also, how many days in advance would I need to order?

Thanks again!

If you are staying at the BoardWalk Inn/Villas, Private Dining can deliver the cake for the standard room service gratuity (I think it's something like 18%, and it's automatically added to the bill when they bring it). If you're staying anywhere else, you'll need to pick up the cake.

In general, they suggest you call about 2 weeks beforehand. Hope this helps! ...And that we get to see pictures! popcorn::

i just surprised DH at the Cali Grille on our anniversary. We had our cake made for our at home reception and didnt have one made through disney. The chefs were wonderful.
Here is our origional cake:

Here is the replica:

The boardwalk made our cake too and we phoned when we were there in December to enquire about ordering a replica of our cake. They were really helpful - they were able to pull up all of the details of our wedding on their system so they knew exactly what cake we had and what flavours. It was going to cost $75 plus tax but we had to collect it.

I am totally doing this as well for our upcoming trip! I'm so excited!!

mmmmmm......:rotfl:

Why didn't I think of this? How would I know where my cake was made? I'd love to have this done for our upcoming trip in late August!

Your cake was made by the Grand Floridian. :thumbsup2 They make almost all the wedding cakes at Disney.

The BoardWalk Bakery only makes wedding cakes for BoardWalk-area Escape weddings.

lurkyloo to the rescue once again! Any ideas on how I can contact them?

:rotfl: If it's anything to do with cake, I'm all over it!

Unfortunately, they don't have a direct number, so you have to call the BoardWalk Inn number and ask to be transfered: (407) 939-5100

Thanks! You're always such a great help!

Ooh Carrie, on a totally different subject - would you mind pointing me in the direction of your instructions on how to create the changing photo image you have in your signature? Thanks muchly!

Do you happen to know if you can order a replica from the GF bakery? My cake was with tropical mousse and I would soooo drool for a slice right now :worship:. Can the Boardwalk bakery make a copy of it? Thanks :)

Yes you can Sam! :goodvibes We had the tropical mousse for my mom's B-day cake last month (SOO GOOD!), but we got it through the Contemporary bakery. To order from any of the resort bakeries call the cake hotline 407-827-2253. Select the resort (GF bakery services the GF and Poly) and you'll get in touch with a cast member to place your order. You do have to be staying at or eating at the resort to order a cake for everywhere except the BW. You can just "pick-up" an ordered cake from there. HTH!

Thanks Kelly! I am going to def order one for our next trip :goodvibes

Does anyone know the smallest size you can get? It's just for 2 of us so we don't want too much!

Should be 6" at GF bakery, 8" at Contemporary Bakery, idk about the BW, but it really depends on what decor your want and who you talk to b/c it seems a lot of people are told different things. I suggest reading through the Cake chatter threads on the restaurant forum. You'll definitely get a better idea of what has been done and what hasn't. (The first post on the current thread w/ all the basic ordering info.) :thumbsup2
