ordering online from Vons or Albertsons

Is there a certain store you order from to have delivery to the disney area? Meaning do You have to put a store code in?

If you have a store savings card with Albertsons, you can enter it and get the same savings. If you use Vons, you get the savings automatically just for ordering online, whether or not you input your savings card number.

You just put in the zip code of the hotel you're staying at (92802 for the DL area) and they deliver from the nearest location automatically.

Safeway has a free delivery code right now, it's Easy7. However, they do have a $50 minimum. I get around this by ordering something small that I'd buy anyway and taking it home with us-- toothpaste, vitamins, etc.

I used Albertsons once, and it was fine, but the last time I tried them they had drastically reduced their online items available. I couldn't find any breakfast items. So I went with Vons this time, and it was fine.

Does this really help on saving time. Do you have to wait for them to deliver? Seems like the only advantage is if you dont have a car to run there yourself but im not sure. any thoughts?

I was wondering if you can order beer and wine. That is the big "extras" run we seem to need. :goodvibes

Yep you can order some adult beverages from Albertson's, not sure about Von's . Albertson's delivers it right along with groceries no problam at all:thumbsup2

My concern is do I have to be there waiting to receive it or will the hotel sign for it and bring it to my room? We will be at GCH...does anyone know? Also we wouldn't have anything refrigerated....just diapers and baby food and snacks.

*bumping*

I'm also interested in the answer to Krissy's question as well as info about what delivery windows are typically available.

We've done this at GCH and at HoJo. You do not have to be there; the hotel will take delivery for you (although some people have called the grocery store in question and they said you had to be there-- but in my experience, the hotel just signs for you).

You try to time it around the time of your arrival-- tough to do, since the delivery window is 1-1/2 hours. If you are not there, the hotel will hold it for you at the bell desk until you check in.

Our experience: at GCH, our flight was late, so our groceries beat us. They held them at the bell desk; although they were not refrigerated, they were packed tightly in a cardboard box and all the cold stuff was still cold, no problems.

At HoJo, our flight was EARLY, so our room wasn't ready to check into yet at 2 p.m, and the groceries weren't there yet. They weren't that busy, so I asked them if, when the groceries came, they would mind taking them up to the room when it was ready and putting the cold stuff in the fridge for us. They did that with no problems, and the stuff was all safely put away in the fridge when we came back about 7 p.m. HoJo will NOT guarantee that they'll do this for you, but they will note your request, and in my experience, they bend over backward to make you happy. (Hmmm... not that I'm a HoJo fan, or anything. ;) )

Does this save time and effort? Heck yeah! Do you really want to haul all the way down to Target for a rack of bottled water, take a taxi, figure out ART, whatever, so you can get some breakfast stuff and snacks for your room? Just have it delivered to your door! And don't pay $3 a bottle for a 20 oz bottle of water in the gift shop! :thumbsup2

Just be sure and call your hotel before you go and let them know that you have groceries being delivered, and the time window.

Gail, thanks for posting the free delivery code. I just placed my order with Von's and confirmed with Hojos that they'd sign for the groceries! And for those interested, we ordered adult beverages with no problem!

Thanks Gail! I guess I will just order it so that it'd be ready for when we can actually get to our room. I will call before I place the order but I doubt the GCH would have an issue with it. Thanks again :)

We have done this once last Jan. and had groceries delivered to DLH by Albertson's. We were at lunch at RFC when our groceries were delivered and the Bell Desk took the order and did refrigerate our items for us as well. On the "notes" section of my checkout screen, I made a notation that the bell desk could sign for our groceries just in case we were not there yet. We are doing this for our Dec. and Jan. trips again.
