Ordering off kids menu

We are not going until early 2022, so I don’t know which restaurants we will be eating at yet. But, in general, can an older kid who is technically a “Disney adult” order off the kids menu? It will be my oldest’s first trip past the age of 10 and while she isn’t a super picky eater, there will probably be times the adult menu doesn’t appeal to her. Thank you!

I believe people only run into problems when it's not a Disney managed restaurant OR when using dining credits.

Generally speaking anyone can order off the kids menu, at some places it may be an adult sized portion with an adult price.

Yes, unless it's a fixed price menu or buffet.

Assuming the dining plan is back by then, they might not let her do a kids meal and use an adult credit? I don’t mind the bigger portion and price, I just want her to find something to eat.

I think you will be fine. I'd leave a bit more for the tip to make up for the price difference in the meal.

I feel like it's a your mileage may vary situation with the dining plan, I can't remember....and it might only have been an issue at non Disney managed places.

I would order her a child's meal and pay out of pocket, saving the credit. After a few meals you should have enough of her credit for an extra meal.

Another possibility:

When I’m not in the mood for a large entree I eat an appetizer or two thus forgoing the obligatory tiny water bottle and prepackaged apple slices. Makes me feel like an adult, LOL
