ordering groceries..

How soon after we check in can we have groceries delivered to our room.. or can they be there waiting for us when we get there.

We will be staying at th BWV's and I don't really see any quick lunch options.. unless you can order by the pool ????

If you are not there and have already paid for the groceries they will leave them with bell services, Bell services will refrigerate any cold items.

You have Boardwalk Bakery, and several options at Swan/Dolphin which generally get a DVC discount of 20% or so.

I think there are burgers/kids meals etc. at the pool. Also there is fast food kind of stuff at the ESPN club and I second that Boardwalk bakery. The fountain at Dolphin is good and of course Beaches and Cream if you want to walk around to the Yacht and Beach. Usually there is a wait but the burgers are great. And the ice cream- yum.

I also have ordered from garden grocer and they were there pretty much on time. (maybe you were talking about DVC groceries though- not sure.)

Selection, basically the groceries available to be delivered by Disney are what is available in the store at the resort. A lot of people order from either garden grocer or we go shop garden grocer has set items to choose from, we go shop will shop where you want and will get what you want you provide a list with brand names, some brands may be different from where you live and they may have to substitue but you would have to agree to substitutions when you place your order.

We rent a car for the day from Alamo/Dolphin. That way we get what we want, when we want it and from where we want. The car rental costs about the same as the delivery fee and tip from the delivery companies.

How much is the car rental for a day? That may be an option.

Does anyone know (approximatly) how much eggs and milk are running in FL right now? If I know the basic cost of items, I can figure out the best thing to do.

We used Garden Grocer on our last trip and would highly recommend them. We were moving from CSR that we stayed at for one night to VWL. They ask you to select a time frame of I think 2 hour window for the order to be delivered. If you are not there bell services will store your things including keeping the cold items cold. We transfered and wanted to eat lunch from our groceries. We got to our room and bell services had the groceries up in a few minutes. Worked out great, and saved us some cash not having to eat out.
