I just went onto one of the florist's websites to order something for my MIL for Mother's Day.

One of them (I think it was FTD) advertised $10.00 off a certain group of bouquets...I found one I loved for $50 (after the discount) and clicked "add to my cart".

Fast forward to the checkout page.....

After tax and delivery.....$86.99!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Needless to say, I didn't buy them. I guess the prices are so high for delivery because of the fuel situation. What a shame. I bet sites like FTD and others see profits decline because of this.

Suggestion for you--call the local florist in the town your mom lives in and describe the bouquet-- i would like it to have this this and that and I want to spend about $50. I betcha you can get a fabulous arrangement delivered to your mom without paying $36 in delivery fees!! Probably more like $5.

Plus remember the additional fees are arrangement fees, and for a vase or whatever it is in. The $50 was JUST for the flowers.

Nope, the $50 included the vase.
