I am wondering if this can still be done and if the CM looks at your cross eyed when you request it? My DS loves burgers and since he is on the kid's plan and there aren't many burgers to be found, I thought that I could split mine with him? I had heard of others saying they have done this. :confused3

I would like to know this too, as I was thinking of doing the same thing. Is this allowed?:confused3

I am in the same boat. My DS loves burgers and although I can buy him a burger OOP, it seems silly to do that when I will throw away half of my meal. The other alternative is to cut it in half. (Only on the DIS boards am I this obsessed about the details)!

I've done this about a half dozen times (sometimes while on DDP and sometimes not). I've never had anyone look at me odd. I think it's somewhat common.

Sometimes I get charged for the extra bun, sometimes not.

how does it work on DDP though...do they just charge your room key for a bun? the rest comes off DDP credits. That would be so nice.....the food choice leave a lot to be desired for the kids at certain places and on vacation I just don't want to fight about food/eating.:cool1:

My husband and I always split one meal at Beaches & Cream. They have always cut the burger in half and split the fries or onion rings evenly on two separate plates. We each get our own pickle.

This is the only way to save room for dessert or a shake which we also share.

Ask first and make sure your waitress doesn't have a problem with it since each person may interpret the rules differently.

It makes sense to me. Maybe he'd like to use his CS credit for breakfast. Another thought is to order one of the kiddos choices at lunch, so that he canget milk (or soda) and carrots/ grapes etc. If he doesnt eat them w his lunch, maybe you can save them for a snack later:goodvibes Theres nothing wrong with splitting a burger/ fries. Esp with all of the wonderful snacks around:woohoo:

Order the double burger and order a separate bun. Plan on paying for the extra bun.

It's a nice budget saver and an alternative for kids especially when there are not burgers on the plan.
:thumbsup2

We did this a lot last May (we were on DDP). I was always willing to pay for the extra bun, and said so, but the only time I was actually charged was at Blizzard Beach.

Thanks for all of your help! I know I couldn't possibly eat a double by myself and it would make sense to give him half since he loves burgers too! With 1 week there on DDP, he is going to be tired of Mac and cheese and chicken.:thumbsup2

We were on the DDP (they didn't end up charging us for the extra bun). No strange. It was really a good deal for us. I ate one and kiddos (DD's 2 & 6 and small eaters) were happy sharing the other. They give you a ton of fries, plenty to share and DH had one of the huge chicken/rib combo meals. We even had leftovers!

I hadn't thought or heard about this. I love it! We are going in May and I have a DD and Dniece that are 2 and don't qualify for the DDP. This will work out great for us b/c they love cheeseburgers and they could just eat our extra piece of meat!

Just out of curiousity...for those that did pay for the extra bun - how much was it?

It's less than $1...I think it's something like .80. Not a bad price for an entire second sandwich (I could never eat a double cheeseburger by myself anyway, too much meat :crazy2:). Pecos Bill's and Cosmic Ray's both have them in MK, don't know about the other parks.

We did it on our last all girls trip and didn't have any trouble. We paid $.65 for the extra bun. :thumbsup2

I did it at Pecos Bill last month. I definitely was charged (but can't remember the exact charge - maybe 65 or 75 cents), but I was NOT on the plan. It did not seem to be a big deal - the cashier seemed as if she gets this request many times a day.

This is GREAT info! :thumbsup2 My DD10 will be an adult and DS7 a child, so getting her a double cheeseburger and paying for an extra bun is an awesome idea! I know he will be unimpressed if we're all having burgers and he is not. ;) We've never done the DDP before (and got it FREE on the bounceback deal in December for Aug) so we're really looking forward to it.

We did this in August of last year. I ordered the double cheeseburger and an extra bun. The extra bun cost 80 cents I believe. When we got our tray of food, I had my double cheeseburger and on the extra bun was a regular cheeseburger! So, my DS got an 80cent cheeseburger!!! I was only able to eat about half my double cheeseburger. They are sooooo big!!!!

We will be doing this also. DS8 likes beef a whole lot better than chicken nuggets. He and I will share the double burger. I will get carrots instead of fries. (Neither of us like fries much.) And then we will share MY dessert.

Does the double cheeseburger have cheese on both burgers or just on one. I like cheese but myds9 does not?
