Im thinking about using the post office to order my dollers from, anyone used them before or another online serivce?
any advice etc would be very helpfull :confused3

I would look at FairFX, their rates are normally higher than the big chains and give a grest service :goodvibes

We used the travelex service where you order online and collect at the airport. Great service and a better rate than anywhere on the high street. We are going to do the same for our trip in October.

I have used the Post Office before - they offer cashback thru' Quidco so, depending on how much you are ordering and what rate they are offering, sometimes it works out slightly better value than Fairfx. I would tend to agree with a previous poster, though, that Fairfx generally have better rates, particularly if ordering more than £500 so you get free postage.

weve used them a few times, you can pick a day for the $ to be delivered.
The first time I was surprised as we ordered loads and the regular postie bought them.

Be aware though that if you order to collect at the post office you won't get the same rate as online unless its the main branch. Don't know why but we ended up cancelling our order with them.

Didnt even think about using quidco :thumbsup2 iv got a few more weeks before i can do anything, gotta wait till next pay day to see how much more spending money i can have lol. But ill take a look at Fairfx as well. Thanks everyone for the info so far.

I've done this several times for many different currencies. You get a better rate ordering online - and I've never had the rate change between ordering and picking up, so not sure how that happened. Post Office also now do better rates for >£500 and >£1000.
The main big advantage for me is that if you use a Post Office credit card you pay no cash fee, but still get credit as if it was a purchase, which can be quite handy.
