Ordering dessert first at Ohana

As much as I enjoy the rest of the offerings at Ohana, hands-down my favorite part is the dessert. I'm not a big eater, so by the time we get to the end of the meal I am usually too full to enjoy it. On our last trip to Ohana, the waiter mentioned that when he dines at the restaurant with his family, they order dessert first. Has anyone ever asked for this? I'm assuming since the waiter suggested it, then it would be okay with the wait staff and wouldn't mess up the flow too much.

I just thought I would get some input from the DIS before trying this out during our trip (next week!!!).

I've never done it, but I would go ahead and ask. Worst they can say is no.

I would say that if the waiter mentioned it, they must do it if you ask. Disney is usually very accommodating.

If you are going to order, and fill up on dessert, why not just go to the Tambu Lounge and save yourself a lot of money. You can order the bread pudding there.

Agree with Hopefully. If the individual size order of bread pudding is still $6.00 you can get 7 servings for the cost of one adult dinner at 'Ohana!

Thanks everyone! My husband and son love the Ohana food and experience, so that's why I'm not just going to Tambu Lounge for a drink and bread pudding I enjoy the food too, it's just that the dessert is my favorite part!

Our server suggested this to us years ago, and we've done it two or three times.

This is a brilliant idea, except for the fact that I would probably eat about 7 lbs. of that delicious bread pudding!!!

We had dinner there the other day and another table asked for seconds of the bread pudding but in a to-go container to take home (reminds me of Maggianos). The server was happy to bring it out to them.

If you want to eat with your husband and son I would suggest just nibbling on the appetizers and main courses and save LOTS of room for the Bread Pudding.

Hang on, I'm pretty sure we all have a savoury stomach and a separate dessert stomach (it's biology bro!) I didn't have a problem finding room for the bread pudding

My son took the same biology course when he was in primary school. When told he couldn't have desert if he didn't finish the main course he would state that his "main course shelf was full" but there was still space on his "dessert shelf".

I'm betting they will do it. They are serving every phase of the meal to guests all over the restaurant, shouldn't make any difference provided that your server remembers that you might want some of the other stuff after you've stuffed yourself with the bread pudding.

I'm sure you can, that food is all being mass produced for constant delivery to tables so there will always be dessert ready to go out to tables. It's an interesting idea.
