This year I wanted our "special desserts" delivered to our room instead of a GF restaurant. We're celebrating ds's 5th birthday and wanted to do something different than the usual cake. He's having his pre-school and family party before we leave so I wanted the real birthday to be different. I ordered two mini wedding cakes, a chocolate mickey with strawberries and one extra order of tuxedo strawberries for the five of us (hopefully there will be leftovers!). I'm having them delivered to our room on the night of the 4th and hopefully we'll be able to enjoy them on our balcony watching the fireworks. In case anyone else wants to do this I didn't order them from GF bakery as usual, because I was having them delivered to the room I ordered them from GF Private DIning.

Robyn - call the day of the delivery, to double-check the time. I ordered this for DH's birthday and they delivered the chocolate Mickey an hour late - which spoiled the surprise and messed up our touring plan. DH kept saying "Let's go!" and we had to distract him for an hour. I was really disappointed, considering how much it cost.

So, I'd call them that morning and be firm on what time you want them delivered.

Robyn, if you are staying concierge....let them handle it.

When I was there a couple of weeks ago, I had the concierges arrange for "special snacks" everyday from private dining. It was incredible!

Unfortunately not staying concierge. Lagoon view was as high as we could go this year (3 kids in college - 3 kids in private elementary school). I will definitely call that morning though to reconfirm the time. THanks for the tip - I really want to get everyone settled before the fireworks start. Last year we had the cinderella's slippers and bones, now this - tell me what else I can do special for our January trip. Dh will be running the marathon so I would like to get something special for him when its over.

In terms of your husband and something special for him...THAT is easy....the Grand Floridian has a Chocolate Box of Chocolate Cigars! We had them on our last visit....they were INCREDIBLE!~ We're STILL eating the "box".

You gentlemen always look like you're having such a wonderful time! Don't you need a younger sister to tag along with you sometime? (oh, and her DH, and triplets!) :rotfl2:

Thanks they look perfect. Do you mind me asking how much they cost?
I tried to fiquire that out....but couldn't....our bill was pretty detailed and had pages and pages of things on it, without clear explainations.

If you give the Grand Floridian's Bakery a call, they could let you know.

Sure, we'll tag along with you....we could be your private guides....we love kids...and do have a super time when we go. Just one LITTLE item to resolve....you'll be picking up the "tab" correct?

No, I was thinking we'd go with you!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Disney Mom do you mind me asking the cost. I am thinking of eating at Narcoossees and would like to surprise everyone with something like this. Maybe a mini wedding cake (is it $25?).
I would love the Chocolate Mickey and strawberries but heard is was $50 which is a bit much I think.

I love this thread, and triple, you read my mind...

just adding MrDisney, that I so enjoy the pictures you post!! Great details, I'm actually going to consider a V&A experience, and its all your fault!! :rotfl:

Yes, the mini wedding cakes were $25 and the mickey with the strawberries was $50. Extra tuxedo strawberries were 5 for $25 (ouch!). Last year I ordered the slippers ($14) and the dog bones ($8).

The strawberries are wonderfully juicey and worth it though....

The dogbones....well...Kevin and I actually didn't like them much....they looking super, but the "creme" filling was just kinda "eh", Disneymom, what did you think of the dogbones?

The dogbones were just okay. I ordered them because I didn't know what to get for ds - dds were easy with the slipper. I'm hoping the mini wedding cakes are a bigger hit. I wish I could have gotten the slippers in dark chocolate. Some people have said you can get them at CRT for dinner so I made a PS and am hoping that's the case. Just not as crazy over white chocolate.

Mister Disney, I get SO HUNGRY after seeing your dessert pictures!!!!!

I love all your posts and pictures! My DH and I are going for our first stay at the GF next month and we will be celebrating our anniversary. :flower:
I was wanting to order him something special as an in-room surprise, what pictures/suggestions might you have? ;)
Thank you!
