Anyone ever done the Photo Pass? I figured, since it's just the 2 of us, this will allow us to have pictures with BOTH of us in them! This is my 1st time doing PP, just wondering how everyone liked it. Any tips?

Thanks everyone,

Chris :flower3:

We did the photopass in 07 when we were there last.. I LOVED IT! one tip.. don't wear black shirts in the evening.. our photos in front of the Hollywood Studios Hat are.. um.. creepy.. washed out faces..

Even though it was expensive, we really loved having pictures of the two of us together.. that never happens.

And that is EXACTLY why I wanted to do it. Otherwise, it would be a ton of pics with just 1 of us!! I pre-ordered and it saved me $50!! So to me, $100 bucks is worth it. We can crop them and add things to them!! I'm excited. Thanks for the tip about wearing dark colors in the evenings. Wouldn't have thought of that! ;)

Do you actually have to order your photo pass card ahead of time for WDW? At DL you just walk up, have your picture taken and they hand you a photo pass card. At the end of your trip you can go to the Photo Store on Mainstreet and get whatever you want printed out, have them all put on a DVD for about $64.00 or just order them online within 30 days.

$64? I paid $99 in 2007

Yup, at Disneyland during our Christmas Trip in 2008, we got our photo pass at the entrance, then had our picture taken ALL over the place for 3 days. Probably had at least 30+ photo's. The photo place put it on a DVD and it included 3 5x7's printed out with a border for only 64 bucks. I think the 90+ price included more printed out photo's and maybe a frame.

No, just like DL, you walk up to any park and get your card. This is for the CD. Instead of going online after our trip and paying $150, I ordered it and paid $100. However, you got your CD for UNDER $65?? Wow! :thumbsup2

The DL ones are less expensive than the WDW ones.

If you want to do a resort photo session you can also have those pics added to your Photopass account for $70. You get the 30 minute session, some prints, and a CD of all of your session photos, then you can add those photos to your pre-ordered CD so you can do graphics and whatever.

The PhotoPass people in the parks are just people - they have no formal photography experience. The quality is HUGELY variable. Ours have been off center, overexposed, blurry, you name it. Your best bet is to get as many pics as humanly possible so you get your money's worth out of the decent shots.

Speaking of resort photos, I am still wrestling with wardrobing. :sad2: So I would suggest thinking about outfits NOW if you want to do resort photos. :headache:

I agree with the pp who said to get as many photopass pics as you can! Also, ask the photographers to do the "magic" shots ....they are really cute. We were told that they can only do them in the daytime though...so ask in the day. My sons have some with them "holding" baby Simba (in AK) and "holding" Mickey Baloons (at EPCOT). I have also seen ones with Stitch or Mickey sitting next to them on a bench...etc. VERY CUTE!!:thumbsup2:goodvibes

I agree. During Xmas, 1/3 of our shots were completely blurry or overexposed to where we looked like ghost. The castle in the background looked great though and completely in focus. :sad2: So we doubled up on the photo's. Had our picture taken almost every time we passed someone. Can't believe they charge such a different price between DL and WDW.

The nice thing is that we've always had the Photo Pass person take a photo of us with OUR camera as well. Some of them turned out better then theirs.

Ohhhh good idea Mark. We'll ask them to use our camera as well! :thumbsup2

Not sure if we'll have time for a resort photo shoot. I've heard its' best to do it 1st thing in the am, but we're SO busy all week. I can't see her wanting to cut into our park time for that. I on the other hand, would do it in a heartbeat. This however, is her trip and I'm trying to make it all about her. Next time! ;)

I've seen them with Tink! :tinker: We'll be sure to ask..I didn't know we could request that? How cool! GREAT tips everyone!

We did the discounted pre-purchase for last November's trip and had no regrets. In fact, I pre-ordered for our upcoming Sept. trip just yesterday.

+1

It's a flat rate and not at all affected by the number of shots, so if you're going to spend that kind of money for the CD (or the CD/Book combo) why not take full advantage of it and avail yourself of every photographer/opportunity you can.

I also recommend getting a PP card for everyone in your party, in case an unexpected opportunity comes up while separated from the group. All the cards can be combined on the final order/CD. And don't forget to add all the stock photos to your CD as well, if you want them.

;)

Would you mind sharing the link to the pre-paid photopass? I have been looking for it for awhile now!! Thanks!! :)

I think all of us should come up with outfits for the family to wear ... I'm sure we can come up with something creative. I wonder how her husband and son would feel about silk or spandex? :rolleyes1

Animal print body stockings and hip boots.
