Well I remembered to buy my AP online today before the buy one year get one year free expires :cool1: However, I realized that I cannot get my discount on my HHN tickets until I activate my AP's:mad: I had planned on going up to Orlando 10/26-29th. I was doing Disney and Universal that weekend. I figured I would order my HHN's and just pick them up when I picked up my AP's sicne the AP's were paid for :confused3 I have to pick up my AP activate it there and then at that point, same day, I can purchase my HHN tkts. I called and he CM said that I shouldn't have a problem getting my HHN tkts since the date I want is a Sunday (28th) and they have never had a sell-out on a Sunday. It will be my luck this will be a history making event...

and if it is, I will not be there making history.....

Really? Did you call and talk to a CM and ask to purchase the HHN tickets? This has come up before and I think the fact that you don't have the actual AP in hand can be worked around.

I'm pretty sure I bought my AP and and then discounted HHN tickets before, booked rooms, and got the other discounts available to AP holders - without the actual tickets, just the confirmation.

USO really makes it a pain when buying tickets. :confused3
What you are going through a friend of ours just went through also.
She bought her PAP awhile ago. She wanted to buy a HHN ticket last night, as she joined us,
After standing in the ticket line for 10 - 15 minutes she was told by the ticket seller that she had to go inside to Guest Relations and have her ticket activated.
So she waited in line there, and had to wait outside again to buy one HHN tciket.
The difference is the AP savings. She paid $27 last night. Whereas buying a ticket without the AP savings would have been significantly more.
As PAP holders, to get the discount on our frequent fear passes, DH had to call in for those tickets. (Could not be bought on line with the discount.) Then we also had to stand in line to pick up the passes last night.
We went early knowing all this line standing would happen from previous years.

Yes, I did call. I was told I had to pick up my AP's first and activate them and then purchase my HHN tkts. I had planned on activating them the day I was doing HHN. I still plan on doing that unless I can up there the weekend prior. If not, I will do it that weekend. If they sell out, oh well, then I do not go. I want to go but not enough to pay more. If that makes sense ;) I am going to try and get up there for Oct 19th. I am off of work (work for the school district). If I can, I will activate them & purchase my HHN for Oct 28 then. If not, like I said, it will be on the 28th... and I will take my chances.. :upsidedow

This is odd. I called on 9/27 bought two ap's at the two year price first then asked for 10/6 10/7 HHN tickets with express and purchased them all i one phone call. Then i bought my SIL the 7 day deal for 86 and bought her the same HHN w/express tickets using her name and cc and my ap discount. I did'nt know you could'nt do that. I guess i had a great agent.LOL My suggestion is to call back..

The friend we were with could have bought a HHN ticket in advance. Just not with the AP discount. :confused3 And that saved her quite a bit.

I agree call back and speak to a CM again. I've been able to buy an AP and get the discount on other purchases immediately. Sometimes it pays to ask different people the same question, at Universal. You'll eventually get the answer you want! :)

I had the same problem and called back on four separate occasions. I got the same answer each time. "There is nothing we can do for you until you activate your passes. We need the pin number associated with your passes, and you won't get that until they are activated." I actually had to pay full price for my HHN tickets. I am going to take both recipts to guest services and see if they can credit me once I arrive, although I doubt it. It is worth a try!

When you buy the HHN with an AP discount, the computers asks them to scan the AP barcode or to enter it manually. It won't complete the purchase without it. I suspect that the team member just used his/her own team member badge barcode so you could purchase with the discount because it is the same discount as the AP holder gets. Herbiesmomma, definitely, stop at Guest Services and see if they can adjust the price for you. it is certainly worth a try.
