I've been looking into a B2B 3 and 4 night as it ends up cheaper than a 7 day by quite a bit for the dates we are interested in. My thinking has me wanting to complete the 3 day portion first since it is the shorter of the two and most likely the more chaotic one. People try to get their bearings the first day, run around and then have to pack to get off. Reports seem to indicate the 4 day is a bit more relaxed with the sea day. Is my logic off?

Since I have OBB to use, I'll use it on the cost of 4 day trip.

Other info: I've sailed 3 day Magic, 7 day magic, 7 day fantasy. This would be the numbers 2&3 cruise for my son who would be 2.5 years old at the time.

It will depend upon your itinerary, not all 4 day sailings end with the sea day. We are doing b2b on the Dream in September and also found the cost to be much lower than booking a 7nt sailing on the Fantasy. I would believe that having that last day as a sea day would be the most relaxing.

Having done a b2b, your logic is correct. The 3 nights are much more of people hurrying to things while the 4 nighter seemed a bit more relaxed. After we were done my DH said 'never again' to the 3 nighters :)
It is nice they end up being less expensive in some cases, good alternative to get a week vacation in, just not at the higher Fantasy cost.
I didn't mind having the same dining rooms/ shows/ etc at all. We kept our same dining team so it worked out great, we didn't request this, they had it done already for us. I don't know if this is the norm or not but it was nice to have our drinks of choice waiting. The turn around day you get the pool to yourself which is an added bonus!

We were asked by our head server at the end of the first leg if we wanted the same servers as we had originally been placed at a table of our own for the second leg. We had already intended to ask to stay with the same servers. So if you're not asked and you like your servers, it's best to ask the head server.

Sorry to barge, but I am looking into this and this is an interesting thing to find out. Love that they will do this!

We did our 3/4 night B2B the opposite way. We started with the 4 night cruise and attended all the shows/MDRs while it was a bit more relaxed. Then on the 3-night, when it was more chaotic, we did other things during those times. We ate at Animators a second time, because we liked it the best, but then skipped the other two nights in the MDR. My DS and my Mom also attended Villains a second time because he really liked it. But other than that, while everyone was rushing around to do things on the 3-night, we were swimming, riding the Aquaduck, playing mini-golf, etc.

Having done the shows/MDRs on the 4 night (in a more relaxed state) already allowed us to pick and choose what we wanted to repeat on the 3 night (avoiding the crowds the rest of the time).
Just a thought for you...

Barging again. Am I right to assume that you would still have to attend the tedious muster drill on the second portion of your B2B?

Yes. Studies have shown that evacuation and emergency practice always leads to better outcomes in the unlikely event that it is required. So rather than to consider it tedious, I prefer to think of it as a second chance to get my bearings in the event that I actually have to evacuate. Personally, I find it gives me a stronger sense of safety and security.

we are taking our second B2B this year largely due to the price being much less than the 7 day. Some of those Fantasy sailings are really high priced.
