Order a cake for pick-up?

Is it possible to order a 6" b-day cake (the non-personalized $12.50 one) for pick up from a resort restaraunt? We are not having a TS dinner on DD's b-day. We are staying at the CR and thought it might be easiest just to pick up a cake at Chef Mickey's (but we're not eating there that day). I don't want to order a larger cake, just the small one will do. I've looked over the cake thread and didn't see this addressed. Thanks!

I may be mistaken, but I don't believe they allow you to pick up cakes or special desserts at restaurants. They will serve it to you there, if you're already dining there.

If you want to pick up a cake and take it somewhere else, I believe you can do this at Boardwalk Bakery. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any other place on property where you can do this.

Check with CR room service. At WL, room service will deliver a cake to your room, the same as you would get in the restaurant. I've never had anyone ask if they could just pick up the cake at the podium.

We were at DTD today and stopped in Goofy's candy shop. They had a few 6 inch cakes in the glass case where they also sell the cookies, fudge, etc.

Room service birthday cakes rock! I ordered the BD package for DD's 21st. We arrived back at the room to a beautiful birthday party complete with balloons, noisemakers, party hats, and a card signed by characters. I was even able to specify a time that I knew would be convenient. Just call your resort directly before arrival and set everything up through in room dining. Have fun!

Thanks for the responses. I think I'll just have to call and ask.

I'm really trying to keep costs down, so I don't want to order room service or a birthday package. DD's b-day is our first full day in the parks, and we don't have a car. So I can't see spending the time it would take to get to DTD or the Boardwalk bakery.

If I can't just pick up a cake, I may try to bring something from home in my carry on.

I don't believe most places allow cakes to be ordered and picked up from the TS resturants, they are only for those with a TS meal.

I would be very careful about bringing something through airport security these days. They disallow so many things these days.

You can get a cake from the MK Bakery. Or maybe even a cupcake?

You are right though, best thing is to call and see what, if any, options you have at the CR

Good luck!
