Looking at booking flight/hotel/car through Orbitz for An Oct 2013 trip. Is there any particular day of the month/time of day that results in better prices or is it all just a crapshoot? Looking to stay offsite 8 night trip trying to hit MK, DS, AK, EP, USO , IOA, and SW.

Flights are the most variable, usually cheapest T, W, Th. I would book those first and then book the rest. Airlines lower their prices T and W, then raise them for the weekend when most people do their holiday bookings. Those are the general rules, anyway.

Also make sure you do use Orbitz. I booked all of our flights through Orbitz except one, which I booked through United, and of course that flight came down $50 so I would have received a credit if I had used Orbitz.

Just checked Orbitz now and their site is offline. Is anyone experiencing the same thing?
