Orbitz still doing the BS with adding kids to a Disney resort

I have used Orbitz in the past to book Disney resorts and I used to have to call and add the kids onto the booking to avoid extra BS charges. I was playing with the site today and learned they are still doing this crap and they charge more for a kid over the age of nine at deluxe vs a moderate vs a value and so on. Good grief. Is that new? Any way, are people still able to book the kids onto the reservations with calling after the fact? Seems like now it would be easier if you had a kid age 17 and under to just put them down as 9 to avoid this crap.
