Well I think I now know why Orbitz put a $150 cap on their promo codes, to make up the money that they will lose for not charging for kids at Disney resorts. I was playing around this morning on the site and low and behold they did not add any extra for two minors on the mock reservation.

This way they can have their cake and eat it to. Too many people, like myself were getting the full promo before and just adding the kids later, therefore getting the best of both.

I just checked and they appear to still be adding extra for kids at the WDW official hotels. You may have been looking at a room that doesn't have a charge for extra guests, including:

- DVC Villa rooms
- Ft. Wilderness campsites and cabins
- Disneyland (California) rooms
- Non-Disney hotels like Downtown Disney and Swan/Dolphin

So, for example, Beach Club Hotel will charge $25/person/night for extra people, while Beach Club Villas will not.

Well I looked at the Poly and it did not. I am 100% certain. But I will double check and let you know.

Well you are correct. It is back to charging. But this morning at an odd hour I was checking the Poly and the AKL, not the DVC units, the resorts. And the price was the same for 2 adults and 2 adults and 2 kids. Should have screen shot it, thought it was something new, but may have just been a glitch.

I don't think the cap has anything to do with the fix. It is a known issue with Orbitz. Prior to the fix, you have to book a Disney Resort with 2 adults and then call Orbitz customer service to add the children for free with the confirmation. Good to know the system is now kid friendly.

The 48hrsale coupon code in my email this morning has no cap and appears to work on Disney resorts.

Good catch - it also doesn't have a 2-night minimum like most of the other recent codes. It expires on Wednesday at midnight, so folks should get bookin'. :)

They are not charging extra for kids, but people in general. Disney does not charge additional children but do charge additional adults. Somehow, Orbitz can't get it right but they are willing to call Disney to add the children to the reservation for free. Extra step, but a very good saving with the promotion code.

It is very bad of them to keep thing the way it is. It tells me they have the options to not charge for the extra ppl, but chose to charge it anyway. If somebody do enough research, then the person can get the extra savings. They would whether charge extra knowing it could be a mistake to charge for kids, then have Disney charge the additional adults later on and miss the additional commissions.

Oh, I got a different promo code than that in my email. Well thats good to know then.
