Orbitz deals?

I just received my ME packet with luggage tags. :cool1: Our trip is still almost 4 months away. :duck:
It doesn't have dh listed so I will give them some time and see if they send an amended booklet. I don't think we'll have more than 2 bags anyway but I do want to make sure dh is able to ride the ME bus with us. :goodvibes

They will send a book with his luggage tags and voucher. Although you don't need the voucher because they scan bands now (so put them in your carry-on bag).

Orbitz also has a 15% off code (GETHAPPY), so when I booked a room at POP and used this code, I saved an extra $120 off the discounted WDW rates.

I did what a PP mentioned...I booked the room for just myself and dh, then afterward, I called Orbitz and they called their Disney line and added the kids to the res for free. Then I linked it to MDE and customized our MBs.

I love Disboards! Needed Pop for one night. Booked according to these directions and saved $15+ for the night. $100 including taxes! Yay! Thanks guys! :goodvibes That will be hard to beat even when Passholder rates are released (IF there is a discount for mid August)!! :)

I need to add an adult (have reservation for 1) but I think we'll just do it when we get there.

I made a reservation for DH and myself and not the kids (to keep the price down). Called Orbitz to have them added and she said she could not add onto the reservation since it was already "confirmed". I told her it did not make any sense for the price to go up on a resort only ressie at WDW, as children under 17are not charged. She ended up calling Disney to have them added and said they were looking into the "glitch" that is causing the price to go up when you add kids in. It was kind of a pain in the rear, but it did save me a little $$.

It will probably be easier for you to add someone when you get there. I thought about that, but want everyone on MDE to make FP+'s. :)

Well the only thing I can think of is that she might want to check in before I get there.

She has FPs already, we're both annual passholders.

Good point. I personally would like to have all my ducks in a row before getting there. Orbitz can always call and have her added.

Also anyone using ME needs to have everyone listed on the res to be able to ride the bus.

I would personally never use Orbitz again. Booked airfare through them, the day before our departure I got an email telling me to check in for my flight. Check, and the flight time is 2 hours off from what we had booked. Now, the first leg of our trip flight is arriving AFTER our connection has already departed. What? Orbitz: (1) did not identify that this would not work, and had us still scheduled on both flights, (2) never even attempted to contact me about the change to the first flight, which had happened a month prior, and (3) gave me HOURS of run-around, told me I should have been tracking the flight information myself, tried to book me on another flight with 18 month-old sitting by himself, and ended up putting us on a red-eye flight to start our vacation. Would never use again, no matter the discount.

Random question, but if you book using Orbitz, and a general public discount comes out can you apply that to your reservation still?

I'm trying to decide if it be cheaper to just book with Orbitz, I played around with the dates compared to the Disney site, and if they have a promo code it's saving us a great deal of money. However, we were hoping to make payments, and i'm not sure I could scramble the total up to book right away. But it MIGHT be an option. Now I don't know what to do!

You would have to cancel and rebook

if you book through Orbitz do you still get magicbands? thanks!

Yes you do. I have a split stay I booked through Orbitz. Between my AP MB's and the MB's from my split stay, I have more MB's than I know what to do with!

Same here. We just completed our trip last weekend that was planned through Orbitz. Make sure you go into your MDE and change the address for Magic Bands. Even though it was tied to my MDE account it had the address for Orbitz in I think Chicago on my account.

I booked through Orbitz over the weekend and was given a confirmation number of 5 letters, not the normal 12 digit Disney confirmation and MDE won't accept the "number" as valid. Is this typical? Does anyone know who I should contact to get it connected to MDE; Orbitz or Disney? (Just figured I'd ask here before I start the frustrating phone call process)

The confirmation number should be 6 characters, letters and/or numbers. Make sure you are not using the record locator, as this is not the confirmation number. I made 2 ressies for upcoming trip on Orbitz and was able to link without an issue. :)

First verify you can pull up your reservation on Orbitz. If it won't link through the MDE app, try the web site. If that doesn't work call Disney. They will be able to help even without a 12 digit confirmation number.

Thanks for the responses! My Orbitz confirmation would not work (it was 6 digits/letters). I called Disney, they said I had to call Orbitz. I called Orbitz and they were helpful. They tried 3 different numbers of which none of them worked. They called directly to the YC while keeping me on the phone and got a 12 digit confirmation number. They stayed on with me to make sure it worked on MDE and it did. Once I entered it into MDE, it converted it back to the original 6 digit Orbitz number that didn't work and all of the information was there. It was unfortunate that I had to spend time on this, but it was definitely worth the savings and everyone was helpful!
