Orbitz Booking Options

I haven't booked a room only with Orbitz in a while. Now they give you the option of either paying everything in full or just paying a deposit. If I just book and put a deposit on a room, do I pay Orbitz when the balance is due or do I pay Disney? Also, is the cancellation policy the same if you pay in full vs. deposit?

That's a great question! I had no idea of this change, and was just looking at Orbitz... Hope someone here knows the answer!!

I recently book a room at CSR for 8 nights in June through Orbitz. I had to pay in full at the time of booking. It did not give me the option to pay a deposit only. However, there are no cancellation fees as long as you cancel 5 or more days before the start of your reservation.

I would say with 99% certainty that you would pay the balance to Orbitz as they're the agent for the booking.

Must be a very new change.
I'd think yes you would pay Orbitz. Orbtiz is a TA in this case. If you book with a TA you pay them, not Disney. I don't see Orbtiz being any different.

Sorry for the confusion. I did some more research. Looks like they don't give you the option of paying a deposit with the Disney hotels but they do for many offsite and Universal hotels. For the deposit option, they do not let you apply a discount code which stinks, but they do allow you to use Orbucks. Remaining balance is paid at the time of check-in at the hotel. To use both a Orbitz discount code and Orbucks rewards, you have to pay everything up front.
