Orange Lakes Country Club???

Has anyone ever stayed at the Orange Lakes Country Club??? What can you tell us about it?? My friend is staying there in Feb. and would love to hear any comments!!Thanks-

this is a big resort and I mean BIG....

some people don't like because of that - others love it.

the views were great - until recently - but I think that is just the salespeople are now noiser than they were use to....

I loved Orange Lake Resort. I didn't stay there, but I did a tour last summer (for $130) and it was really nice. Like someone has already said, it is really big, but it has its own beach - no kidding. Sand and all. They have water sport rentals and they should have finished (or almost) their own water park. They were building a lazy river thing around the entire resort. That was worth staying there if nothing else.

Their room set up is typical of 2 and 3 bedrooms. Nothing special - but colorful. Lots of yellows and sea blues - cute at most. The golf course is nice. We enjoyed ourselves there for a whole day - they almost sold us on the whole timeshare thing. I don't think buying directly from the resort is a good idea (toooo much money)- especially when people are selling their same timeshare for half the price - and they only had one resort. If or when I do buy a timeshare, I'd like to buy one with many sister resorts - Orange Lake has that only one in Orlando (they were once associated with Holiday Inn, but not anymore)!

We stayed there last February and were very happy. We were in the East Village in a building next to the pool (not a big pool like in North Village ... but enough for our young family). We did the timeshare presentation and I must say we let it go on toooooo long as we truly thought maybe we could swing it ... so we ended it by buying one more week to visit with the promise of another presentation ... but this time we KNOW for SURE that we aren't buying, so I will stand up for us a bit more!!! Plus we will be able to use the new waterpark by then as both girls will get some enjoyment out of it!

We had a two bedroom condo and it was immaculate. Very quiet and although a large resort, we didn't mind as we didn't have any desire to run all over the place to different things. We just wanted to enjoy the pool and anywhere we went we just drove.

not associated with holiday inn, but the concept was the work of Kemmson Wilson who was the originator of Holiday Inn ( he did orange lake after leaving holiday Inn chain )

he also has Wilson World close to Orange Lake

We've stayed at Orange Lake several times, the last in 2002 and have never been dissappointed. Yes, the resort is HUGE, but that really never mattered to us. We always stay in a 2-bedroom villa, which are spacious and immaculate. The pools are great, the on-site restaurants are pretty good (one delivers room service), they have jet skis, 2 mini-golf courses, and of course, don't forget their beatiful golf courses! What else? A small movie cinema, games room, indoor/outdoor play areas, tennis courts. We used our car to get around but they have also have a resort shuttle., like a tram to get you from point a to point b.

It's also now one of only a couple non-wdw resorts that has a Disney Planning Center staffed by Disney CM's, where you can buy tickets, make priority seatings.

We love Orange Lake.

Does anyone know of any Orange Lake Vacation Packages that include a cheaper stay with tour? I know you can tour with money but a friend would like to stay on property and tour (without paying full price of course).

I know that they have specials all of the time, like cheaper night stays if you stay 4 nights, golfer specials, etc. for certain times of the year. We usually trade in a week of time share, but one time we rented for a week and got a reduced rate.
