Hi
We booked a 3 bedroom at Orange Lake for Jan 2010. I am trying to figure out the number/size of beds in each room. It says it sleeps 12 I'm assuming that means there is a pull out couch in the living room?

Also I thought I checked when I selected the resort but after reading comments I'm not sure: Is there a washer/dryer in each room?

I looked at the tripadvisor web site and I'm not sure if the picture I'm looking at are of the west area or not. Does anyone have pictures of the west area they can share?

Finally I read many reviews that refered to activities and tube rentals. Can anyone give me an idea of the activities offered and their fees.

Thank you very much

Thank you for the info.

For some reason I can not bring up the orange lake web site on my computer. I have tried using the link on RCI, the link you provided and just typing www.orangelake.com into my browser bar and I keep getting the message that the web page can't be found. Does this happen for anyone else?

I can't go to the second web site either I get the message that "the host name can't be found". Is this a problem with my computer?

I think it must be some setting that you have on your computer as either www.orangelake.com or www.olcc.com will direct to the Orlange Lake Resorts' web site. Have you tried both typing the address into your browser address box and just clicking the links from the messages here?

We stayed in a 3 bedroom unit in December 2007.

Were you in the WEST section???

The unit configurations may be slightly different from section to section. And, even some units within WEST. They have different Villas and then the main Clubhouse Building.

I do know that WEST has now now been completely refurbished!

I do know that the WEST section has many little individual free-standing drive up villas. (I have seen photos of those on tripadvisor... make sure to expand traveler reviews, and then there will be a selection for Traveler Photos at the top of the page)

I know that many of the photos that I saw when I was researching Orange Lake a few months ago were of the units in the EAST and NORTH section. (furniture and dining seating along the wall, TV in the island/divider between the kitchen and the living area. (I thought that layout was BAD!!! looking into the kitchen and with the kitchens overhead lights while watching TV :confused3 ) This is actually what we will be in, as we are exchanged for the NORTH section for this spring. I wish the NORTH units were being refurbished, as they should be next up in line.

Anyhow, on tripadvisor, unless the photos have been labeled, you have to match them with the review and see if the reviewer mentions which section they were in.

We stayed in the West village over looking tennis courts and part of a golf course. We we on the 2nd floor.

Yes we will be in the West section.

It must be something with my home computer because I could get to the site at work. I printyed most of the pages to look at in my free time. Thanks for the tip about matching the photos to the trip report. I don't know why I didn't think of that.

The Golf Villas (2-bedroom unit older style units) are undergoing renovation. The Tennis Villas units (both 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom units, there are not 1-bedroom or studio units in the Tennis Villas) are exactly the same as in the East Village and the North Village. The Tennis Villas are the multi-story buildings that are near the Clubhouse. The name for them came because when OLCC was originally built, a Tennis complex had been built at the site. If you wish to be at the center of activities in the West Village, the Tennis Villas will put you there are you are near the Clubhouse with its numerous activities, the main West Village pool, the minature golf, the water activity such as JetSkis, etc. The Golf Villas (and Magnolia Court) in the West Village have a different design.

The North Village was built in 1999/2000 and should have received a refresher (replacement of carpet, couch, beds, soft goods such as curtain, fresh paint) a few years back with the second round due for some of the units starting this year whereas the renovations to the Golf Villas have been described as tearing out everything to the studs and then replacing everything. This will not be done to the North Village for some time yet. The Golf Villas are scheduled to have the renovations completed this year (it was a 4 year project that started in 2006).

The East Village began in 2001 with units still being built. The second building at RI should be opening soon but until that occurs, the newest building at OLCC is in the East Villas.

As far as not getting on the website, I'm not sure there isn't an issue with the server. I don't know if they changed providers but many people report difficulty in getting onto the webpage. There are some webpages that even though I see, it reports not on the server (owners update section specifically).

Gary: Thanks for the info I didn't realize how big this place is. Is the 3 bedroom a lockout? or is it like DVC where some are and some aren't

The only 3-bedrooms with lockouts are at River Island. The 3rd bedroom in the other 3-bedroom units would make nice studios if the owners choose to do so. My personal opinion is that studios are nothing more than hotel rooms and when I stay at timeshares, I'm looking for something better than a hotel room. Of course, this depends on how much time you spend in the unit. I like to lounge around the resort and not necessarily head to the parks so the upgraded units are more important to me but may not be to others.

We are traveling with my mother in law and I thought a lock out would give her more room. Since we are in the west area that won't be the case.
