I have booked a 2 bedroom in April. It looks like a nice place with a lazy river ride. Looks like it has a waterslide too. Have any of you stayed there? Is it any good?

We have stayed at Orange Lake in both the River Island section and the West Village. We love them both. The River Island pool has 2 waterslides and a Lazy river. The kids also like splash lagoon. The kids do have to be a certain height to use the water slides but I can't remember what it is. I want to say 48 inches.

Cool, we are going to rock that waterslide hard. How are the rooms? Any good restaurants near the condo?

Yes, it is good (of course that may depend on what you're comparing it too). We enjoyed it; our two-bedroom was large and lovely, and we enjoyed the River Island area (had to drive to it, or take the shuttle -- OLCC is beyond huge for a resort). When we there in an August, it was pretty hot to enjoy the mini-golf, tho (should be okay in April). Although we didn't go WDW on that trip, it is handy to AK, via Sherbeth Road, and then on to other WDW parks in their system. Also a convenient Publix. We didn't do their activities because we had other things to do -- we did golf one evening on a nice course, but it was late in the day and bugs got bad. I have recommended it to friends.

eta: restaurants -- you will have to drive -- it depends on what village you are in -- did I say "HUGE" -- you will probably need to drive back out to Irlo Bronson HWY and then have lots of choices.

River Island has a nice resturant overlooking the pool. It's outside bar has reasonably priced drinks and the food is good. There are also other resturants onsite ( the one on the golf course is high end). We used our Holiday Inn proirity points for our trip and was very happy with everything about the place, but you WILL need a car.

We loved Orange Lake and will definately go back someday. It worked out so well for our family of 6, we had a 2 BR and it was huge! So comfy and nice. We wished we had more time to stay and play at the resort that trip. We didn't have enough time to relax and enjoy all that Orange Lake has to offer. Next time!

Here are some pictures. (Sorry some of them are a bit grainy) We had such a pretty view out the back and enjoyed the screened in balcony. The kids had plenty of room.

Great resort other than it is large (huge) lots of activities. Walmart superstore on #27 just 2 miles up road is better to shop than the Publix on site as on site very expensive. Lots of resturants on site and on #192 The hwy Orange Lake is on. You will love it. Lots of kid activities if you have kids

Thanks for the walmart tip. We will be getting some breakfast stuff and some snacks and drinks.

How far of a drive is it to the parks and how do you go about booking there??

How much does Orange Lake cost? Do they ever run any deals? Are the condos individually owned, time share, or is it set up like a hotel? Thanks!

Orange Lake is great- you can spend an "off-park" day just relaxing at River Island- the hammocks are a favorite with our family! There is also a large Super Target close by-great for groceries and supplies. I am sure you will enjoy it!

booking from their site is very expensive. We use www.vacationtimesharerentals.com and have gotton good prices through owners there. We have stayed 4 times. My kids love Splash Lagoon. I do believe the slides at River Island are 48 inches. Splash Lagoon does not have a height requirement for their slide although it is smaller.

Has anyone used their priority rewards points to stay at the holiday inn lake orange resort?
