Yep. I have a 3-bedroom at River Island although from the sounds of things, it will only be me.

You'll enjoy the pool areas. We just got back from there on Sunday.

Would you believe I did not take a single picture of Orange lake?? We weren't there until later at night usually. We did spend a little time at River Island. I used the internet cafe to catch up on work (you bring your own laptop and pay for internet connection) and son and other family members swam. My son met some teenage girls his age so he was happy LOL.

I was a little disappointed in our villa location. We were in the West Village which was far away from everything else. They did have shuttles that ran but all in all OL was a little too large for me. Plus the villa we were in was pretty run down. It was clean, but the beds needed replacing, the screen was partially ripped out of the patio door and the stove had a broken drawer on the bottom. They are renovating that area, but our unit hadn't been fixed up yet.

It seemed like a totally different resort when we hung out around River Island and when we were in the villa. But like I said, the villa was clean and even though it was older they were working on renovations. I've always loved staying at Vistana and we would normally have been there, so I think I was a little let down. Especially coming off Coronado Springs. I fell in love with CSR! But my parents, husband and son were totally fine with OL and the convenience of being able to cook and do laundry was very nice.

we stayed at OL too, our weeks our in August we stay in the East Village. i have got some pics but they always seem to take me ages to upload i post them soon

oh i do actually have a couple of the river island pool area already uploaded

Great pic's !!!! We have scheduled in some down time in our stay just so we can enjoy the resort. I am hoping the weather will be warm enough to enjoy the pools. Our reservation is for the West Village although I understand that they can put you either in the West or the East. I am on a toss up on which I would prefer according to what I have read. I know that the East side is newer but from what I have read it is built more like a "hotel". The West side units sound larger but depending if you get a recently refurbished unit or not they can show their age. Also, East side is closer to all the action from what I have read. I don't know. If you ever get a chance to stay at the Lawrence Welk in San Diego you go through same kind of choices. I did prefer the older units in San Diego just because of their size and the fact that they are like cottages as opposed to hotel high rises.

If you like larger go for west side. Even though the one we were in was a bit run down, it was very clean. There was no build up of anything in the corners or along the walls, the bathrooms were in very good condition.

Clean counts for a lot. We've been in places over the years that were scary to walk in to LOL. And I thought they had decent space. Plus the odds of being ground floor are good, which is kind of nice after long days at the parks. I just had a preconceived notion going in of what I was expecting and once I adjusted my thinking, things really were fine.

i prefer the east village as river island is only just right around the corner from us, and we over look the golf cousre and big fountion. we are members of RCI and they still count us as part of the WEst Village even thou there is one for the east village i dont really understand why? but we are happy we our villa we have. I dont see how the east building are built like hotels, to me they are like the rest around the resort.

i have found a photo of the river island buildings

and i cant find any from the WEst Village, i think we stayed in the west village is was only a two storey one.

We just got back from our stay at OLCC. We were in the West Village in a one story villa. The villa we had was one that had been redone. It was a very nice, comfortable place to stay. I had a scooter that needed to be plugged in every night, and we no problem fitting it in the dining area to get a charge.

I only had one complaint. We have stayed in a lot of timeshares and there is always a "book" to tell you where things are in the resort. And important things like what they want you to do when you leave, if there are pool towels at the pool, things like that. Not so at OLCC. It was like they were keeping things secret. We had to call the front desk to ask where the hot tubs were. They list them on their handout, but they do not tell you where they are. Some pool areas had them, so did not. We were not the only ones who were lost. When we finally found the hot tubs we met another couple and started talking and they asked me where the "book" was. I had to laugh, I told them I could not find one either.

I we get another chance to go to Disney, I would like to try another timeshare, but I would not pass up the chance to stay at OLCC again.

Hey Gary-- you should post those on the TUG site. The one's listed there are from the brochure/web site I think. I prefer personal pictures when reading the reviews.

Is there a Wal-Mart or Target near OLCC??

We had a great trip. :thumbsup2 Here are a couple of pictures of our unit. We stayed in the West Village. We had no problems with construction, we were near one of the pools, pee wee golf and had a beautiful swan swimming in the lake in front of our unit. It was a short shuttle or drive to the lazy river which I didn't mind at all. Our unit was in a duplex which I would prefer over having units above me and below me.

Is it true you have to pay to use the pool area, lazy river and slide in the RI section? Just wondering. I think I heard this somewhere on the Dis. Does anyone know their policy if your condo is not actually in RI section?

We own at Summer Bay, just down 192 from OLCC and like to keep our options open in case we don't get a desired trade, we're always willing to return to Orlando/Kissimmee!!:goodvibes
