My neighbor has offered to me her timeshare week for only the transfer fee. In checking availability for my vacation time, Orange Lake Country Club seems to be the best available. Has anyone out there stayed here? What did you think about it? It looks huge! Any major problems? What building should I try to get? I have a 16 month old grandson - is there a playground for little ones? Would it be warm enough to swim the last week of November? It looks like a lot of activities are offered. What should we try to do? Thanks for any advice.

this is a BIG resort. Not enough swimming pools (my opinion) - although they are pretty shallow.

If you are planning to visit WDW - there are much closer resorts.

I didn't appreciate OL because I have to visit Spicey at FW 3 to 4 times a day. It is a very long drive from OL - around 22 minutes each way - so 44 minutes * 4 = almost 3 hours just getting back and forth to see him. Not even including the visit.

So until I don't travel with a pet - OL is off my list.

It has a ton of stuff to do.

Again this is a big resort.

Was Hilton Grand vacation club (HGVC) or Cypress Pointe (CP) (there are 2 of these) on the list?

another big resort with lots to do - but much, much closer to WDW - is Sheraton Vistana Resort.

We stay every thanksgiving there....
Its great and everything is there....
Movie Theater... New water park... game room.... pools galore.... You in my opinion want to stay by (the main pool) west or the east village....

Go to this link and look at it....

I know everyone has their own opinions, but i just stayed at OLCC in October this year and i stayed at Vistana in '99. I prefer Vistana. I don't really know why. If i remember well, Vistana offered the same kinds of activities that OLCC does. Because OLCC was so spread out, we didn't take the time to look around.

Vistana's master bedroom also had a hot tub inside the room! Not in the bathroom, but IN the room! It had columns all around it. It was just beautiful! I really like the rooms at Vistana much better.

I am not saying that i DIDN'T like OLCC because we liked it, but JMO that we like Vistana better!!

Thanks for the information. It sounds like a great place but then so many "look" good until you get there. The resorts I would have preferred because I knew where they were - Sheraton, HGVC - were booked. They just had Westgate, Byron's and a few others that did not have good reviews or sounded a little dull. It will just be my daughter and her 2 kids until Thursday when we meet with husbands and other family at Disney for 3 days at POR. This is our mini-vacation. So I am looking forward to the break. Did you try the restaurants - are there good restaurants nearby?

There was an OUTBACK!! (my favorite!) Cracker Barrel, TGIFriday's, all the fast food places. That's all i can think of at the moment. I know there were more, but my brain is stuck!!
