Orange Juice goes Low Carb!

I wonder if the sugar companies are going to try to find legal recourse, too.

I'm sorry, orange juice is not worth the carbs to me.

Interesting articles, Robin. Thanks for the links

I heard a commercial last night and was wondering what they were ging to come up with. I haven't had orange juice since last June but I don't really miss it at all.

I'm not on a low-carb diet but I haven't had juice since I started WW. I just didn't find it satisfying anymore and it wasn't worth the points since I was drinking quite a bit of it.

I hardly ever drink this stuff, so not a big deal for me...but thanks for the heads up, Robin! :)

I never drank much OJ, so I don't really miss it. Thanks for the links, Robin.

I love my juice. I will have to make up for everyone who stopped drinking it. My family drinks alot of juice. No health problems. : )

I guess the term "low carb" is all relative, isn''t it? In my opinion, this new orange juice is NOT low carb, even though it is lower in carbs than the regular. And, it's a shame. Lots of people who don't know better will be suckered into thinking this is OK for a low carb diet.

I have to admit that orange juice is one of the things I miss most in this low carb way of life. But, you know what satisfies that craving for me? Diet Rite's tangerine flavored soda -- 0 carbs, 0 calories. It's not orange juice, but it's close enough for me.

I personally would much rather eat the orange, with all that good fiber, than drink the juice. This is true with all the juices - apple, grape, grapefruit, etc. If I'm craving the taste of fruit, I'd rather eat the whole fruit - I find it much more satisfying.

With that said, I don't eat near the amount of fruit I used to before I started eating low-carb. As I get closer to maintenance, I will be working more whole fruits into my menus, on a regular basis but maybe not on a frequent basis.

Thanks for posting the articles, Robin!! Very interesting!

I miss my OJ. I discovered the very one you were posting about at the time it came out. I was sick and one of the only things that stops me from getting sicker is OJ. I just didn't want all that sugar or carbs so I had just about given up til I saw the Tropicana label.
I treat myself to it about every two weeks or so and it's a GREAT treat. I haven't gained any weight from it, so I know I'm doing fine with it.

It's still more carbs than I care to have. I would rather eat an orange and I have several times. They were good too. :)

I agree with you, Robin. It really kind of ticks me off. It seems everyone is trying to get in on the low carb craze. Products like these could be a problem for people who have not taken the time to learn about low carb, and just grab any label that says low carb.

I guess it's good that we have a choice. I'll just chose the real thing. :p
