We are traveling to Disney Jan 5 because my Daughter is participating in the Disney College Program. She checks in on the 7th. We have Sun available and looking at the price of tickets for 6 for 1 day is crazy. So.....
I was wondering if there were any orange groves that we could tour? We may still end up at MK just because the New Fantasyland wasn't open in August, but that's a lot of money for one day (she only gave me 2 months to save during Christmas time and triplets birthday! HAH)

Perhaps you already know the answer, but can your daughter get you a discount on admission?

Sadly, many of the groves have been plowed under for subdivisions and vacation homes. That's the saddest part of any drive to WDW.

Hope you can find one.

1. Check out the resorts especially AK Lodge or Wilderness Lodge.
2. Ride the monorail around.
3. Downtown Disney. Check the schedule because they do nighttime activities.
4. Maybe think about doing Disney Quest. A great way to kill 4-5hrs. Plus, you daughter should be able to get a better discount than on a 1-Day admission.
5. Sit on the beach at the Polynesian and watch the fireworks from across the lake.
6. Check out Disney's Boardwalk.
7. Disney putt-putt at night is great. Wintersummerland is a blast during this season.
8. Ride the ferry and/or boats.

My daughter ends her College Program and moves back home on January 4. She ended up extending her first session into two and LOVED IT. She worked at Animal Kingdom this year. She loved it so much she is going to come home and finish her AS in the Spring then transfer to UCF and go back to work with Disney as a seasonal employee, this way she keeps her benefits.
Yes they do get 6 passes per year that are good for 3 people to get in, however she will not receive these passes until after the second week. As a holiday gift they were given a couple more day passes that had date restrictions but also given meal ticket passes. A friend of mine and I went last week, she let us into Epcot and Hollywood Studios with her pass, and we had a 50% discount at Prime Time Cafe for lunch that day.
I love seeing her facebook updates to where she is each night, with Animal Kingdom closing early she and her room mates spend most nights at Magic Kingdom. She is very sad to be leaving in 3 weeks, but very much looking forward to going back, and keeping in touch with the friends she made along the way.

Another plug for Showcase of Citrus. It's a great place where you can spend a few hours. It's a must for us every trip!

The Showcase of Citrus sounds perfect, that's just what I was looking for.

I can always count on DISser's to come through for me. Thanks.
