Just back from a fabulous trip.
Something that puzzled me.
On the 192 (around about Marker 13 and 14) there are stange orange, plastic balls on the overhead wires.
Anyone know what they are?

Wee, the balls are so that the helocopters that fly and land in the area (tour flights)are warned of the wires being there and also the electric companys fly above the the lines and they know where these balls are and this will tell them if the lines are down or not. Thom

OK..Thx Thom.
The strange things is that they only seem to be present at this one part of the overhead wires (I know there is a helicopter tour rental company about marker 10 or 11 but not at 13 and 14).
After travelling up and down 192 from John Young to I4,this seems to be the only area that has them.

Are there several wires reasonably close together?

The balls could be there so that, if the wires sway in the wind, the balls would keep the wires from touching one another and causing a short circuit. This could be a problem if the poles supporting the wires are quite far apart. In warmer weather, or in times of heavy electricity demand, the wires will sag more and sway farther.

No....they are just regular utility wires running parralel or crossing over 192.
As mentioned, they only seem to appear at this one part of the 192 (approximately 10 or 12 balls in a 100 yard stretch.)
