Does anyone know if I can take baby liquid Tylenol or Orajel on the airplane with me? We are flying to my folks next week and my son is just barely cutting a tooth....

Thanks!

Jen

It would seem like there should be no problem, but I've heard some horror stories about how unreasonable, inflexible and idiotic some of the screeners can be.

Seems like you could just stick these, esp. Orajel, in your pockets and walk on through the metal detectors. They surely aren't patting people down, yet.

The rule now is that you can have gels and liquids on the plane, just no more than 3 ounces of any one item. You have to put all of your tubes and bottles in a see-through zip lock bag so the screener can see everything together. Just get a very small bottle of Tylenol and the little tube of Orajel and put them in a baggie, along with lip balm or anything else you might be carrying. You just hand your bag to the screener. He looks it over and hands it back to you. I flew to Las Vegas last month and carried my Blistex and a little bottle of hand sanitizer. Security was no problem at all. The screener was even giving people zip lock bags if they needed them. Just be up front and follow the rules. Everything should go smoothly and the little guy's teeth won't hurt him! :)

Another solution is Hylands teething tablets. They work better than Tylenol and orajel-and easier to use than trying to get the gel where it's needed. And of course they're not liquid at all, but little dissolving tablets.

Thanks so much everyone! I just love how helpful these boards are! And I've never heard of those tablets, I'll go check it out! Thanks!

Yes, you can bring liquids as long as they are 3oz or less and you must put them in a quart size zip lock. The bag needs to be taken out of your carryon and put through in the bins.
