I'm thinking of not getting off the ship at Nassau. I was wondering what is available or more importantly what is not available. I think I've read that the pools stay filled and are open. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.) What about movies, shows, spa services, shops? Thanks!

Except for Castaway Cay, we spend most of our port time on the ship. That is the best time to hit the pools, and the restaurants are far less crowded.

I know the shops are closed while in port. I don't know about the movies and spa. I suggest you go out to Barb and Tony's web site or the DCLTribute site. Both have the full navigators posted which detail all activities each day, including port days.

Have fun. . . .wish I was going with you (Feb '04 is so far away)!!!

We went to Atlantis in the morning and was back by lunch. The restaurants, kids club, spa and pools are open. We watched movies after lunch and the kids went to the club and my DW and I relaxed on deck 9. Shows are only in the evenings and goes on.

Shops are closed due to the tax free status of the shops.

Not sure if they still do this but they use to offer a 15% discount on spa treatment while the ship was visiting a port.

We skipped Nassau as well to completely relax after running ourselves into the groung after 6 nights at WDW. Well, we ran off the ship to see a bit of it (not worth what we saw) and to buy a bottle of rum:smooth:

The spa was open (I got a manicure, but I sure didn't get a 15% discount!) It seemed there was a perfect balance of those who got off and those who stayed on, and all activities seemed to be going on.

See if you can find a daily navigator from www.castawayclub.com that will give you a good idea of what may be going on!

Thanks everyone! I think we'll save our money and not do an excursion. The last time my husband and I were in Nassau we were not impressed either. I was hoping 90% of the people got off the ship just so we could have it all to ourselves!! :p
