Options for the unknown

Last year DH went to the powerschool conference in late Feb/March. I called powerschool and tired to explain that I have a DVC and have to know now if they are having the winter conference again at WDW. The lady really didn't get my dilemma and I am sure I came off as an idiot. In the end she said they will announce the conference locations in Dec.

I have 27 points in holding for my April UY. I have 152 point that will have to be banked by Nov. 30.

Do I bank all my points, use the 27 in holding and borrow from 2012 if they do have the conference?

Do I make a reservation now for the dates I think it will be and then in Dec adjust it or cancel? What would happen to the points if I do cancel?

Urg, having to make plans out so early can be difficult because we have to wait on powerschoool.

if you make the reservation and have to cancel it, any points used will drop back into the current use year and expire on march 30, 2012. if you cancel before nov 30, naturally you would still have the option of banking current UY pts.

travelling late in your UY is a drag if you have to cancel...

Just to make sure I have this correct, the banked 152 points will then have to be used by March 30, 2013.

I really thought I knew all this but second guess myself because I don't want to make a mistake.

yep - the banked pts will have to be used for stays from april 1, 2012 to mar 30, 2013.
