Options for Poly to WL?

We are staying at the Poly. On our MK day we will be at the park for EMH, hope to come back to Poly around noon for rest/swim, then be at Wilderness Lodge for an early dinner at 5:30.

To get from the Poly to WL in the late afternoon, what are our best options?
Should we get on the monorail at the Poly, go to Contemporary (quickly look around since we have never been there), and then I hear there is a boat from the CR to WL. Does this boat run fairly often? How much time should we allow for this trip at this time of the day?

Or, should we go back to MK either by boat from Poly or by monorail from TTC. Then go to MK dock and take a larger boat over to WL? How much time should be allow for this option?

Thanks for any help. This is the first time we have stayed on-site and used Disney transporation!

Either is feasible. I would think it would take longer to go the Contemporary Resort route as you will slow down and semi-browse. Leaving the Poly I would take the monorail to MK and as you come down the ramp from the monorail the boatlaunch is right there to yoiur right. Monorails run pretty regularly and the wait should not be long there. The only place that you may have to wait would be the boat lauch. Boats are more like busses on their schedules and you may have to wait a while for one. Also the CR boat and the MK boats take opposite routes. In the afternoon the MK boat goes MK-WL-FW-MK-WL-FW..... The CR boat goes CR-FW-WL-CR-FW-WL. By taking the MK boat you will eliminate the extra stop @ FW. That will knock off about ten minutes. I would still allow 45-60 minutes so as to not be stressed about making the reservation.

Thanks so much for the info. Its sounds like the way to go from Poly is walk to TCC, mono to MK, boat to WL and allow close to an hour.:goodvibes

I would take the monorail to MK then the launch to WL I love seeing the lodge from the water!

The Poly is on the resort monorail loop. You can catch the Resort Monorail at the Great Ceremonial House (I think that is what it is called) The stop is right beside the Kona Cafe (my favorite). There will be a stop at the Grand Floridian but it will not take long. This monorail travels in a clockwise motion from MK to Cpntemporary to TTC to Poly to Grand Floridian and back to MK. The express monorail travels counter-clockwise and only stops at the TTC and MK. Just catch the monarail AT the POLY and then take it to the MK.

The other option would be at MK to take the bus back to WL. There were times we found the bus to be there and the boat to have just left.
