What are the lodging options for a family of 5? We stayed at AoA last time in a suite and loved it. But exploring our options for next trip. Thanks!

We stay at AoA or All Star Music Suite for a family of 5. I just can't deal with not having 2 bathrooms. Actually, there were only 4 of us last summer and I still booked the ASMusic suite for the two bathrooms.

We stayed once in the Cars Suite. It was great and I am happy I did it one time. However, in my opinion, it isn't worth the extra cost vs ASMusic. We do a 2 week stay so the price difference was $1300

Riverside or any number of deluxe resorts. Depends on the age of the guests. If you are a couple with younger kids then Riverside is a good option. If older kids then I'd go with someplace like Yacht Club (great pool!) but really expensive.

We have done All Star Music (after that trip swore I'd never do value again), Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and the cabins at Fort Wilderness.

Our family of 5 have stayed at AOA, Poly, CR, POR, and YC. We don't like food courts, so we've enjoyed the deluxe resorts the most. POR is really pretty and the smaller rooms can work. You just have to be organized and keep your things neat. If you want to see Yeeha Bob's show, get to River Roost a couple of hours before the show. We stood around for half an hour, looking at a table saved by a hat and a lanyard, while being ignored by staff. I booked the resort specifically to see him, and we left half an hour before his show because of the the previous. Oh well, our vacation was still a lot of fun.

We travel as a family of 5 and organization is key. We have our system in place from years of practice since we have never ever had more than one bathroom in our house, and I cannot stand clutter.

As a family of 5 we have stayed at BC, BWI, and CBR. Cheapest options have consistently been CBR or POR. The value suites are pricey enough we'd rather splurge a few more dollars and just stay deluxe. Having 2 bathrooms really isn't a big deal for us though.

We have stayed at POR, CBR, AoA, and GFVillas. Our of all we prefer POR. We just like the resort better. GF was nice, but pricey. If 2 bathrooms isn't a big deal then I wouldn't book A oA again and try something different.

We have stayed as a family of 5 at YC, poly, and will head back to YC again. Dh & I have also stayed at BWI, CBR, and POR without kids. I agree organization is key, and even with teens we do fine with only one bathroom. Just plan accordingly! We prefer to stay deluxe vs a family suite or 2 value rooms. Location trumps 2nd bathroom for us.

Our July trip is our first CL trip as a family and honestly think it will be a good choice based on breakfast and milk savings alone! Lol

Thanks everyone! This is helpful! It was so nice to be able to put the kids to bed and shut our door and prep for the next day, shower, etc. They were 7,7,4 during that stay. Next trip they will be 9,9,6. I just worry if we try a smaller room and it's too tight we'll regret it! I mean it's Disney, it can't be too bad... but my inlaws stayed in a standard room at AoA and that was tight!

Wow, almost in your exact shoes except I have 9/8/5 year olds and I swear that the extra bathrooms and the extra storage furniture in the suites are what keep me from going bananas. I have done the Moderates to try to save a buck, but I feel like when I reflect back on those visits, there was more chaos. Kinda like a constant looking for things in the morning, having stress from not being as early as I hoped, etc. Like others mentioned, a game plan that includes organization is essential for sure when trying to fit 5 into a smaller room.

This is what we do. WE are okay with one bathroom, and we are very organized so the room does not seem cluttered. We do not spend a lot of time in the room itself, but we do spend it at the resort, so having the amenities makes a difference.
