Option for Sep 2002 points via resale

We haven't passed ROFR yet but I expect we will. We're going to have 200 points that expire September 1st and we were not planning a trip in August. I expect we'll close the end of July. I think our options are:

1. try to rent these points but that might be real hard given the last minute travel.

2. late bank to II? I believe this is possible but more restrictions on future use? Has anyone done this?

3. Take a last minute trip ourselves but non-summer trip appeal to us more.

Is it hard to get non-DVC disney resort on short notice? AKL concierge might be nice.

Any thoughts?

You can't make a reservation outside of DVC in the last 2 months of your use year. With a September use year, you would have to make the reservation by June 30, 2004 for a non-DVC.

Could you have the current owner book a DVC/Non DVC reservation or put in for an II Exchange in your name before the June 30th deadline?

It's probably possible to rent the points...there are always people looking for discounted points in the last month or two before a trip.

I'd try something...200 points is a lot to lose!
