The crowd this morning at Madison Square Garden were unbelievable.

I think that Oprah's story; what she has done with the cards she was dealt in life, is definately inspirational. I think her generosity is commendable, but I don't get the cult of adoration that surrounds every movement she makes. It will be interesting to see what effect she has on Obama's campaign.

You just know that most of those people waiting at Madison Square Garden are standing there thinking they might be getting a car, or "Oprahs Favorite Things" or something to help kick off her new season of shows.

I hardly ever watch her anymore. She got too self righteous for me to bother.

I would have liked to see her help children here in the US that need clothes, a place to live and a good school-instead of setting up an Oprahtown in another country.

DITTO on the philosophy that there are enough poor,hungry and undereducated kids in this country that could have used that money. The same goes for Jolie, Pitt and Madonna. After all you made your money in THIS country!!!! Pitt did go to New Orleans and that was great but losts of kids here need help.All these AIDS in Africa charities- give me a break. Take care of our own first!

While there are certainly any number of domestic charities that can benefit from an infusion of cash and attention from celebrities, they could do worse things with their money. They could keep it for one thing. Their money, their choice.

I have not watched her in years.

And sorry but she can spend her money abroad any way she chooses. They all can. They can not give it here the same way they do in other countries. Here she could not just make a school or give a ton of money to a school system without it going to "other" things. I do know that she did give ALOT to a private school her in MS that does all kinds of wonderful things.

And Pitt and Jolie are helping here in the states.
