Opinons about washing machine features

I have an HE top loading Samsung with all the bells and whistles and have had nothing but trouble with the washer. I don't think it gets my clothes clean and we have replaced everything on the washer, and I mean everything including the wiring harness, except the outer metal housing, (motor, shocks for basket, wiring harness and basket included). I will get one with a center agitator next time.

I will say that my daughter has a Whirlpool top loading HE with no agitator that is much nicer than what I have. It spins the clothes better and seems to do a better job of cleaning. I am almost inclined to get a simple top loading agitator that beats my clothes clean next time. I have also had to replace parts on the matching Samsung dryer I got. I told my husband the next thing that fails I am taking a sledge hammer to the both of them and working out some frustration! LOL.

I just replaced a Samsung top load no agitator with a Speed Queen top load with agitator.

Samsung cycle = 59 minutes
Speed Queen cycle = 29 minutes

My only complaint is it doesn't get the clothes as dry, so I usually run an extra spin cycle. Of course, my dryer takes about 55 minutes (still the Samsung), so I have plenty of time for the extra spin.

I think the Speed Queen does a good job getting everything clean.

I had a HE top loading, no agitator washer - forgot the brand. It only lasted a short time - of course right after warranty rolled off. Had a repairman come in and it would cost too much to fix so we got rid of it. He told us to go back to the "old fashioned" agitator with no bells or whistles. So that is what we did and so far so good. Clothes get cleaner and doesn't take forever to wash.
