ROL is at 8:45 the night we will be there. Before I knew that I had booked an 8:00 reservation at Boma. So, I'm wondering if I were to switch my reservation to before ROL what time should I pick so we can make it back to see ROL? Same question if I were to switch it to after ROL.......how long would it take us to get to Boma after ROL? Not sure which way to go with it..... Is ROL worth it?!?! One more question - do they serve wine & beer at ROL like at Fantasmic!?

Frankly, I'd dump Boma and book a restaurant at DAK.

You must sometimes wait 30 minutes before being seated, even with a reservation. If you want to maximize your enjoyment of ROL, I'd recommend NOT booking a reservation anywhere outside the park. The hassle and stress of rushing through dinner, bussing/driving to the park, and hurrying to the back of the park may diminish your ability to enjoy the show. Tusker House would be a great alternative to Boma.

I know many carts serve beer and mixed drinks throughout AK, so I'm sure you can get a beer or wine . . . depending on how picky you are.

Not very picky at all & oh yes I do love the dole whip!!
Thanks for all the responses & ideas - I think with the group I'm with & the popularity of ROL it would be best for us to just skip it. I think I will just keep my original plan. I'm trying very hard to keep it a little more relaxing since I have 2 first timers with me - and they are a little older. I agree the back & forth would be silly & a bit much, ROL sounds like a bit of a mess right now & the wait times (even with FP) seem extreme so I think leaving & going to a great dinner at Boma would be the best. Plus it gives me a reason to go back tho - right?!?!
